This is the one of historic place in Surabaya. I love to take my daughter here because I can educate her about history, hero and also everything which suitable with history.
The large yard also makes me enjoy this area. I can see some people walking around here, making relatiob or just sitting on the part of this yard.
In this area too, I can find museum here. I can know about Surabaya in the past time from this place.

Fantastic place to get in touch with the history of Surabaya, especially the November 10 Bung Tomo Event which is quite important in the overall Indonesian independence story.
The guide we were fortunate enough to have is a 3rd year English Literature student at the nearby university.
She offers us a deeper look into the contents of the museum and shows is what a Indonesian youths think about their country and national unity.
The quote I remember the most was the one by the fourth Indonesian president that "Regardless of your beliefs, if you do well for people of all religions, no one would care to whom you pray".
Finally, if you are in Surabaya, this is worth stopping by.

A landmark to commemmorate one of historical event happening in Surabaya a long time ago when the people were fighting for freedom. A good tourist sight and suitable to introduce the history of Indonesia.
You can also enjoy the view when you are passing by the area.

Got this great monument in the morning 6.30. it was nice to be here. I found that there are two new statues of country proclamators in the front gate, covering front pillars.
Some locals excercise and jogging around centerfield. After 7, crowd start coming plus some student do their sport class at the field.
Canteen is available behind museum exit, at east are, provides Nasi pecel and and soto. It's ok and cheap

Tugu Pahlawan is a must visit when you are in Surabaya. Besides the monument, you can also see the vehicles of Bung Tomo, stories about Surabaya and you can watch the documentary about Surabaya battle. I found the monument is interesting because there is many cool spots to take pictures. There's also a cafeteria, that provides you cool drinks and warm foods.

Free entry (just pay a parking fee if you ride a vehicle), friendly staff to guide you around are available in the office. The location sorounded with a beautiful garden, also you can find many historical old weapons that used to defend Surabaya long time ago.

This monument Tugu Pahlawan, Heroes Monument, is the symbol of Surabaya and is built to respect the heroes who fought for independence. This rocket-like monument points towards the moon 41.15 meters high. Along with the monument, there is a museum where diorama of Surabaya in 1945 is displayed. History of Surabaya at that time could be seen through pictures, clips, and stories. There are other buildings surrounding the monument to depict the struggles Indonesians had to go through.

Architecturally very nice, but as a national monument it suffers a managerial issue that could put down the experience itself, like the way the cleaning stuffs stored, and the display quality at some areas - for instance. The park itself originally intended to be as open as possible to the public, but it turns out to be a little bit fail due to the existence of a massive border around the site that set it apart from the surroundings.

Menara Tugu Pahlawan ini salah satu tarikan di Komplek Tugu Pahlawan. Berbentuk paku terbalik dengan ketinggian 41.15 meter, boleh kelihatan dari jarak yang agak jauh menjadi mercu tanda kota Surabaya. ..kami berada di sini pada 6 dis 2014.
