  Salah satu diantara sedikit masjid yang selamat saat tsunami di Aceh tahun 2004. Air dari tsunami dikatakan hingga (atau melebihi?) kubah masjid. Masjid diperbaiki oleh pemerintah Turki, termasuk perumahan disekitarnya. Disisi kanan (masih di areal masjid), terdapat "mini museum" berupa foto saat kejadian tahun 2004. Kuasa Tuhan yang sangat besar dan memberikan banyak hikmah dibalik musibah tersebut.

  The only building survive the Dec 2004 tsunami. The entire country was wiped out, but this mosque. Survivor said, the water touched the tip of the dome, the star and crescent symbol. The entire country/bay/villages wiped out, diminished, killed almost all of its inhabitants, but even the water did not touch the mosque's interior. Allaahu Akbar!
  
  Now the area remains empty. Majority of its people were dead. The remaining survivors, reluctant to stay there, although Turkey's government has built housings, complete with electricity, etc.
  
  The area shown in the picture was villages full of houses. Now it's just become green just recently. Previously, even trees didn't live. The tsunami water was said to be poisonous.

  This mosque is the only building survived 26 Dec 2005 tsunami in Lampuuk area.
