  The first time I visited this place was in 1988. At that time, this was just like an abandoned old graveyard. When more people understand the significance of this place, the clean-up effort was put, and this graveyard was put under historic place list. I come here quite often and see the changes in government attitude toward historical places such as this one.

  Located on a hilly area, this location is quite easy to notify and access from the main road. There are no any special amenities around the location nor adequate information resources.

  Malahayati atau nama asalnya Keumala Hayati merupakan seorang pejuang wanita yang menjadi Ketua Pengawal Istana semasa pemerintahan Sultan Saidil Mukammil Alauddin Riayat Shah IV yang memerintah dari tahun 1584 hingga 1604.
  Semasa peperangan menentang Belanda pada Sept 1599, Malahayati telah berjaya membunuh ketua tentera Belanda iaitu Cornelis de Houtman di atas kapal Belanda. Di atas keberanian beliau, Sultan telah menganugerahkan gelaran Laksamana kepada beliau.
  Setelah menempuh perjalanan yang agak jauh dan bertanya beberapa orang tempatan, akhirnya kami dapat juga menjejaki Makam Laksamana Malahayati.
