Wonderful volcano and crater with sulfur. A great treck
Walking through this gas-filled crater is probably the closest thing you'll ever come to walking on another planet. The blue fire coming out of the cracks, which is only visible in the dark, is worth waking up a few hours earlier for. Also pay attention to the workers, who climb up and down this crater with as much as 90kg of sulfur rocks on their shoulders - quite a shocking and impressive sight.
With sweat and tears Come an amazing views.. God creation which makes my jaw dropped.. Subhanallah
Standing at 2,799 metres, Kawah Ijen is one of 130 active volcanoes scattered across the Indonesian archipelago.
Mt Ijen in Indonesia is one of only two volcanoes in the world that emit blue flames from its crater, the other volcano is in Iceland.
As the world’s largest acid lake, Kawah Ijen is constantly spewing sulfur smoke. It can be poison in hight
concentration.
You will need a gas mask to protect you from dangerous sulfur dioxide
After a long hike, you will see amazing view. If you are lucky to see blue flame glow in the dark. You have to visit this place. I also want to return again to this place.
Be there and you will never regrets to see beautiful Ijen.
Please let me know if you have any question. Thank you so much
It is a the main traveling site in Banyuwangi. A perfect place for hiking, not so hard, and the scenery on the top of mountain is spectacular. It also has blue fire, inside the crater, near the sulphuric lake. Recommended.
