The Legend of Weru

Based on the narrative of the elderly pini now living that the name of Weru Village, derived from history during the reign of Sultanate of Yogyakarta. There was a war called Brandal war. Kyai Wiryo Kusumo for not matching his queen finally left the empire and settled in a village far from the crowd. Kyai ageng WiryoKusumo was known as a magic Mondroguno both in the field of soldiers and in the field kebatinan. so he was known everywhere. One day a princess came from Ayu attacked the village, knowing the power of Kyai ageng Wiryo kusumo the Princess intended to apply Kyai ageng (Ngunggah - Ngunggahi) but the princess hopes to be useless because Kyai ageng rejected the wishes of the princess foot boresan (kadasen). The princess finally left with a deep sense of shame and disappointment. Because the princess came from far away and she did not know exactly the way to go home finally on her way comes she disebuah river then across. Across from the river stands a large and shady WERU tree, and under that tree the princess finally becomes an ascetic. after the final ascetic the princess disappears. At the same time the weru tree where the Princess is dying. by Kyai Ageng Wiryo Kusumo the village is called the village of WERU and the cupola is still there.
