The check out hour is very flexible. As i check in at 5 am in the morning. And the receptions is very nice to allow me book with traveloka. Its cheaper. As you know you cannot book the room through the traveloka app cause it will close the date that alr passed midnight.
But the downside is, the room is just average.

Best Hotel with excellent service in Bromo area. They do not have a pool, but who need it? You are in the mountain. Go outside the hotel. They offer mountain jazz music. Ask them for the schedule.

Very nice place with friendly staff. Views are really nice and food was amazing! Breakfast was very good after an early visit to Mount Bromo.
Hotel is located near to a small village and only around 45min from the Mount Bromo view point!
Rooms need a little bit of updating, but as far I could understand hotel will e improved in the near future. Restaurant was already renewed. Art gallery is also very beautiful with amazing fotos from Mount Bromo.
At the reception a cafe is open 24h.
A heater in the room could be useful since temperature drops in the night. At least, water in the shower was warm and with good pressure!

Great location and great restaurant.. an ideal basis for climbing Bromo. The only downside is limited TV (all Indonesian channels) which is understandable given the location, but take a good book!

The only 4 star hotel at Bromo area was Jiwa Jawa Hotel. This hotel named by java banana hotel many years ago. Today it is Jiwa Jawa Hotel. Cozy and elegant. Thumb up for this hotel

The view from this hotel is fantastic! I had a good time here, though the room rate was overpriced (in my opinion). Nevertheless, it offers short time trip to Penanjakan (around 30min). No need to wake up super early in the morning to witness the most beautiful and breathtaking sunrise of Bromo

I always love the way they built the business on the top of mountains, and how they contribute to the environment. Consider the area, this is the best hotels around and I truly appreciate the way they deliver the business.

Rooms are clean and luxurious, for Bromo area. Staffs are nice and helpful. Café with limited menu are there, and galleries for the art lovers. Great garden and park, and most rooms are facing to extraordinary greeneries.

Now that they open a budget accommodation also, I wish I can visit them more frequent.

Great view, great place, good atmosphere, okay food, Meh service from staffs. They're all smiley, but do not respond very fast.

I also got lost trying to find my way here because the hotel staffs didn't reply to any of my messages that i sent to all of the contacts number and e-mail that they posted on their official websites.

Tip for future guests, come thru Surabaya then Probolinggo instead of through Malang. Better yet, just contact jeep owners or Bromo tour providers to get here and back from Malang or Surabaya.

Not very good but just enough to leave at 4 am. Breakfast ok. Wifi rather weak.
The philosophy is founded on three pillars: Jiwa (soul), Kekeluargaan (family) and Lingkungan (environment). As such, Jiwa Jawa Resort Ijen aims to reflect a unique combination of East Javanese culture, extended hospitality and environmentally friendly practice. Located between Bondowoso and Banyuwangi regencies, this location is rather discreet but inviting. Explorers who travel far would be able to witness magnificent view of the blue fire caldera at dusk and of the turquoise lake surrounded with reef-like sulphur walls at noon, with a tranquil place to rest at night.

Probably the best hotel experience I've ever had. Highly recommended!!

This hotel provides a peaceful sanctuary while the site offers great all-rounded adventures. You can go wild and hike the mountain track to the beautiful scenes of mount Bromo or you can just rent a jeep complete with a guide to have casual adventures with family.

You can also stroll around the hotel area to engage and experience the daily life of Tengger People which by the way they have a unique culture and very friendly.

Get your camera ready for there will be lots of beautiful moments to capture wherever you look.

My room is situated on a 3rd floor with 1 queen size bed and 2 singles with the mountain view. it's surprisingly quite warm even without a heater, probably because they use lots of wood materials inside the room.

There's also an art gallery and jazz concert area facilites where you can sip a cup of hot chocolate while enjoying the arts and performances.

The price is a bit higher than other hotels nearby, but considering the luxury quality of the facilities plus the unique experience, it's totally worth every penny.

Overpriced and no privacy. I just checked in to my room this afternoon. They host a private party which use loudspeaker to disturb other guests. I am the unlucky guests put in the room just opposite of that party. I called the customer service to be moved to another room and was denied and was told they are fully booked. Paying more than $200 per night I expect to have a quiet room so I can rest before getting up at 2 am to up to mount Bromo.

Second problem, the bed and the pillow has definitely dust mites since my nose is stuffy right now and I have allergy to dustmite.

Third, there is no heater in the room.
Fourth, the bed is almost as hard as a hardwood floor.

Fifth, the hot water can suddenly change to very hot almost burning my skin to ice cold water. Horrible.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel and would never stay in this hotel ever again.

No safes in the room and no AC or heating. It is quite cold up the mountain and dinner in the restaurant is not good. Bathroom is tiny and smelled very bad since the time we entered the room.

The virgin mojito was delicious and the breakfast was great. Staff were friendly too.

The location is pretty nice, the personal is sympathetic, the hotel look really good but the price is a bit expensive.
The room are quite small and the bed are two small mattress on the floor so it wasn't the best night ever. The bathroom was share for our room and there weren't very clean.
The restaurant is good but a bit expensive too.

Looooooooovvvvveeeeee it!!! Perfect service, great arts collection, many nice photos taken by the owner. But very expensive!!

The hotel is idyllic and cottage styled Very comfortable. The most comfortable accommodation you can find in Bromo. The Café there (still named Java Banana Café) serve the best coffee de miel and grilled banana (choose the lemon topping). Never tried the resto, but during some event their cooking proven as acceptable for me.

They have an annual event, 'Jazz Gunung' (translated as mountain jazz) with open air stage and famous musicians from all over Indonesia playing on stage. It usually take place around July - Aug. If you happen to be around this place during the event, join it!

The gallery cafe is located in jowa jawa resort , and really near to the bromo nice places. The room is like 4-5 star hotel, but without proper tv channel, wifi and late night room service (10 pm). Breakfeast is simple but delicious.
The cafe itself is excellent, in ambience and location. What will you expect more than coffe, good arts and mountain view.

    Bad.

A feedback was written to the management but no reply. The email was active when they wanted business.

    To THE MANAGER

    Dear Sir/Manager

I spent 2 full days and a night at the Java Banana over the Chinese New Year weekend and I have to admit, the resort is very well put together - from design to the furnishing, it was a visual pleasure for any guest walking in the property. However, it stops thereafter.

During my stay there was no warm water throughout despite my constant request for help from your receptionist. There were no assistance from your housekeepers who enjoy hiding in one corner chatting (and smoking). Therefore we literally cannot bathe because of the cold temperatures which was a lot of discomfort after the dusty travel from Bromo.

Then I was on a semi-business trip needing wifi and one of the reasons why I chose your resort was the wifi - only to find out the wifi was NOT working for two full days both at the reception/restaurant and a gallery. When I sought help, the receptionist/concierge explained that it was because of the clouds - which was most amusing and insulting - to my intelligence. Wifi was propagated by a router and has nothing to do with clouds.

As a column writer for a regional travel magazine, I chose Java Banana because of what you advertised - wifi, warm baths etc and I was deprived of both. Clearly there was a mismanagement somewhere else.

The most disheartening part apart from no help rendered, was that non of your staff were apologetic to the situation, with one telling me that I should be at the resort to relax and not to surf net - you may want to train your staff on this.

I had so many nice photos of Bromo and your resort intentionally for a new travel column but on second thoughts I will not recommend this place to the world given the service culture.

You may want to look into this and thereafter rework to train your staff so as to do this beautiful resort justice.
