Beautiful place to go for a good hike into the rice fields. The day we were there there was also a road crew paving part of the road into the fields. Lots of really hard labor! It was so cool to walk through the fields and see how the terraces are made to create these fields to grow the rice. We had perfect timing there, just as we got back to the top to eat lunch the rain started pouring down.

World heritage site that is a must see place. The beauty of the place will blow your mind. You need to pay an entrance fee of 40k rupiah but one must enter the place and walk along the paths within the rice terraces to enjoy it's mesmerizing beauty. You can spend an entire day here.

This is a must see attraction if you are somewhat in the area. I would recommend going either early in the morning or late afternoon, the temperature is a bit cooler and the light is better for taking pictures. You could spend an hour or two walking through the fields. If you are lucky enough to be there when the rice is close to harvest the fields are bursting with color which makes it an awe inspiring experience.

This is an amazing world heritage site. If you're in Bali then your visit should definitely include a trip to Ubud. You can get a bus tour, walk through the rice terraces or get a bike tour. We did a bike tour and it was a great way to see a large amount the area. The colours are wonderful and the natural beauty of the place is beyond what I expected. Worth a visit, for sure.

Bring lots of water if the sun is out. A photographer will be in heaven with the magnificent vistas and back setting of ancient volcanoes. Who knew rice could be so beautiful- horizon to horizon brilliant green to fill your lenses.

Cooling and the crowd was just nice. Would not like it if the place is too crowded. As I was driving myself, I was not so sure where to park. It would have been a great site when the paddy is matured.

Lucky to arrive just after a thunderstorm. Bright green rice grass, good mile loop trail through the paddies. Nice lunch spot above the fields. Worth the drive from Seminyak.

A stunning rice field. If you ever been to Tegalalang, than this is a lot more stunning. A must visit!
There will be an entry fee.
There are several tracking routes, they marked it with different colour.
You won't get lost for there's a lot of arrows
-painted with the colour of the tracking route- to point which way you should go. The tracking routes varies from 30minutes of walk until 3hours on bike. You can rent a bike in that area.

This is a wonderful area to visit, but your sense of wonder might depend on the weather and time of year. There are great walking paths around the area and you can walk along the actual rice terraces but make sure you're wearing very solid (waterproof) shoes or go barefoot or flipflops. The locals are very friendly although we as tourists are interrupting their daily work.

One of the recommended touristy area. It is a UNESCO heritage site. Beautiful view, lots of greenery. When i was here the weather was very nice, and not too hot. Definitely one fine day in Bali. You will need to pay entrance fee when you come here. We paid 15k per person for local tourists

This is a must see sight, the scale of these rice fields is mind blowing. The irrigation systems are so complex yet work perfectly.

The scenery and backdrop of jungles and mountains are breathtaking. We also met some friendly cows as we wandered around here.

View is really spectacular. Must visit place in Bali. Very near from Ubud market. Can rent a two wheeler to reach this place. You can also take one day tour by bicycle if you have time. You can take Bali cooking classes from the local people.

Beautiful view of the area. Fun ride on a motorbike from Ubud which took us about an hour and a half to get up here. The rain kind of slowed us down but it was well worth the experience.

Amazing views across many miles of rice fields. You can see farmers hard at work and learn the difference in each rice plant. Well worth a visit for educational reasons as well as the views. Check out some of my attached pictures for an idea of what you will see.

I love this place!
Everywhere you look you will see rice field, i didn't managed to do the tracking but i would love to. I will definitely come here again for the tracking. If i am not mistaken i paid 40k for entrance.

I came to Bali to stay an extended time and live as a local rather than a tourist, trying to stretch every last dollar/rupiah to my name, and thus couldn't give this beautiful place five stars because with the price of the restaurants here, myself and the Mama and her two girls that I stayed with could eat for a week instead. It is no doubt a beautiful place however, for those who can easily afford it.

UNESCO place, we did the blue tour that was 4km i believe. It was really juice to walk amongst the rice terraces. We finished with a restaurant with a view on it, it was nice as well. Be prepared to climb a lot by car to get there.

Without a doubt the most impressive rice terraces in Bali and always beautiful, no matter what stage of the rice production it is (harvest, planting,). The entire area is also pure organic. Visiting it with electric bikes is the best & easiest way and they will bring you to parts rarely visited by tourists as its too far to walk there

Beautiful rice field terrace. The weather is cooling though can get sunny still. Apply your sunscreen and head in there to trek in the rice field. Shortest trek is 1km. And the trekking is relatively easy. This is a bigger rice field compare to tegalalang rice field. Jatiluwih definitely is worth the go. Skip tegalalang and you won't be disappointed. There is accommodations and lots of restaurants you can even chose to stay there overnight. My shots are taken in the month is Sep.

Beautiful landscape! 40K for foreigner, 15K for indonesian to enter. It has a huge range of layers beautiful rice field and you can do a trek from easy 1 hour to 2,5 hours. Couldnt stop taking pictures

A beautiful place with a stunning view! Note to the people wanting to go. The rice field is most stunning before it’s been harvested, because they burn some of the fields, but it’s still beautiful! Unfortunately they do not have specific month they harvest according to our guide, so I can’t tell you June is the best month because it varies.

Wonderful experience here! It totally makes sense why Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are UNESCO World Heritage! Please read a bit about the Subak system before coming here, or at least look it up on your phone while you enjoy a meal with spectacular views. Trekking takes 1-4 hours depending on your desired activity level.

I feel like most people come here for the views- which are spectacular. It's a supremely beautiful location. But there's also a deep history here about the 'subak' culture in Bali, where religion, politics and agriculture merge. It's now part of a World Heritage Site and I would recommend learning a bit about this heritage before visiting to really appreciate it.

There were layers upon layers of paddy fields carved into the hillside as far as our eyes could see. Unlike Tegalalang Rice Terraces, there were no tropical and coconut trees obscuring our sight. No large groups of visitors and villages making out to photographs and posing for tourist dollars too. The place had a sense of calmness, made all the more serene by the rolling hills of wet rice.

No pictures could do this natural wonder any justice! The green scenery is just breath taking. There's a reason why this place is a UNESCO heritage site!

I was always told to go really early when visiting rice fields/terraces as it can get very hot in the afternoon especially with the lack of shades in a rice field area.

Unable to go really early in the morning, we decided to visit before the sun down and boy, we couldn't have been happier. Arriving after 5pm means cooler temperature and not many tourists, unfortunately, it also means that there weren't many farmers available for questions or to simply observe.

There are several trekking paths in Jatiluwih. They differ in length but equality stunning.

Amazing to come around the bend in the road and see the terraces. Rent a motorbike and go on your own. There are smaller footpaths that you can ride down to avoid the walk. Great place!

UNESCO world heritage for a reason. See how Bali was before mass tourism. Plows pulled by cattle and balinese farmers working hard for the rice you eat. I recommend to take a hike.

Truly amazing place, a bit further from the action in Bali but worths the visit. Get the camera ready for some amazing pics and a bit of exploring as you can walk through the rice fields. Prior arrival you will be ask to purchase a ticket. After all the pics get a quick bite in one of the warungs in the area. All of them charge a bit more than other warungs in rural areas but in most of them you'll have a view of the fields. We did the trip here on a scooter and appreciate the mountain climate, bring good shoes if you are going to explore the fields!!!

Simply beautiful. Get a personal guide to get you there because it is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the island. Miles of rice fields carefully and beautifully kept, almost seems out of a movie. Absolutely recommended.

Great view, nice atmosphere, nice places to eat. You can walk along the growing rice in terraces which is nice experience, short loop 20 minutes walking but there is also longer loop we didn't take. The best is to come with rented scooter (motorbike) - we did it from our way from Kuta through Pura Batukaru towards Munduk, but you can also do it with an overpriced tour from ubud if you'd like :)

Its worth a day trip to see the beautiful landscape and have a walk through the rice fields. They will charge you a little fee to enter. Bring good shoes as the way can get very slippery and muddy when it's raining.

We drove a long way to see the famous terraces but where a little underwhelmed by the views. I think it is really up to the seasonality and if the fields are fresh and green there is perhaps some good views as described in other reviews. We happened to see muddy terraces and some occasional greenery and this did not justify the travel. The good thing is that there is a pathway where you can walk and photograph in the midst of the fields. There is a small entrance fee for using the pathway. Restaurant is poor.
