Very empathy. Very unprofessional. Even the instructions copies are ripped off. Didn’t give full instructions (you will only really know when you wait in line and wait for your number). I needed to go back because there was a mistake in my name and because of the very unclear instructions, I end up waiting for almost 3 hours only to be sent to a different office and came back with nothing. Need to wait again for around 2 weeks for the text, and again, when I arrive there, I had to go here and there, here and there because the staff don’t know what’s exactly going on. People have waited since 5 am in the morning and the machine was not turned on at 7.10 am. The security was casually talking to another person when his job was supposed to turn the computer on. The SMS centre only answers like automatic machine. Very, very dissapointing.

Better to come with an Indonesian, really. A way more faster and they could understand the documents. If you want to extend visa here, make sure to triple check when completing your documents or you will go home with nothing.

DO NOT EXTEND VISA HERE! Go to another office, like in Matarama. It's taken us three separate visits and over a week and a half. Each visit taking +1.5hrs. Very unorganized, chaotic and confusing place. On our second visit, they lost our receipts from the bank showing we had paid for our visa extension. Seems like the process is changing recently and you can now go online? I'd highly suggest researching that option too.

Immigration office, better to use a website, so the procedure becomes more tramsparent. The office now has an unhygienic toilet for the customers and all sorts of so called agents walking around with fishy business targets

We had to come back 3 times to get our visa extended and it took 9 days for them to complete the process. So for us 9 days without a passport and nine days when we had to come back to Denpasar 3 times. When you are there, waiting times are normal /ok (not more than 1.5 hours) but be prepared that the staff takes lunch break at least half an hour early so you might just have to sit around and wait till they are done with their break. What a poor service!

The office opens at 8 am not 9 am. Parking cost for the car directly across the street from the office is 5000 rupiah. About 40 cents US.

You go inside to the counter, be certain to have a photo copy of your passport personal data page and also the page of the visa stamp or sticker that was placed into your passport on arrival into the country of Indonesia. ( if you need a photo copy, there is shop 50 meters next to the immigration office that has a small internet cafe and photocopy machine, they are consistently helping with this service for a small cheap fee) You are also required to have a photocopy of your onward flight itinerary. You will be given an application to fill out. Very simple form. Front and back. Very important that form is filled out in BLACK ink only. There are pens and counters you can fill out your application. You then go to the machine on the left side of the front counter against the far wall. (A section ticket machine) press the button take a ticket for A section. You sit and wait for your number to be called. There are overhead large TV screens that show the que for waiting your number.

Then proceed to the counter. The officer checks all your data, you will be given a red folder to place your name and passport number on the outside cover. All your documents will go into the folder. After you fill out your name on the folder and the officer takes your documents, you go sit down. Once your paperwork is checked again and approved and entered into the immigration data base, the officer calls your name and provides you with an official claim of reference document. The date you are to return is on the paper. You must return in normally 3 to 5 days to have your photo taken and finger prints, this process takes about 5 minutes. The process is come early. When you go into the office go to your Left. To the ticket machine, take the ticket for "C" section. C section is to pay for the visa, but as of this date. JUNE 12, THERE IS NEW PROCESS. Wait till your number is called. The officer at the counter will provide you with a "D section" number for photograph. After you take the picture and fingerprints you are finished. YOU THEN MUST GO TO ANY BANK AND PAY FOR YOUR VISA AT THE BANK!!! THIS IS NEW PROCESS. THEN YOU ARE TO RETURN IN TWO TO THREE DAYS TO PICK UP YOUR PASSPORT. THE BANK ELECTRONICALLY NOTIFIES THE IMMIGRATION OFFICE THAT YOU HAVE PAID.
Morning times are the best to process in and out, be there early. During the day things drag on sometimes with your number never being called. Do not be afraid to approach the counter and ask for help. The officers are friendly if you smile and ask them for help. The office is being competently operated compared to previous years. Good Luck.

I'd give them zero star if I could. Long story short, I am an Indonesian resident wanting to extend my passport as I am planning to stay overseas.
I asked them to help me get the new passport faster because I am only gonna stay in Bali for 2 weeks (already bought the return ticket).
I asked since day 1 I arrived I went to the office for the passport and haven't even get my passport until the last day so I need to purchase another ticket.
Their reason was the balinese holiday (The office was closed for 3 days). But then they told me if I want it faster I would have to pay. First pay about $100 (Rp. 1.000.000,-) so they can take my photo for the passport. They promised me the passport would be ready the day after the photo taken.
Second when I asked where is my passport they said please pay $750 (Rp 750.000,-) for the passport to be ready or I wouldn't be able to get it until next week.
I was forced to pay so much by these money hungry officers. If you don't have money you better be ready for your passport to take longer than it's supposed to. Not including the que and you could've been waiting forever for your name to be called for passport photo.

The servers in jakarta have been down sonce Christmas and it's Jan 13th now. I have been many times to have my photo taken for visa extension only to wait around and leave because the computers are still broken. I am driving 1 hour from Ubud each way and paying a taxi every time. I am running out of money. When I asked a worker if they will wave the fees in The airport, she said no. So, in other words, I have put in a lot of effort and many days of my extended educational holiday in at the immigration office. paid a fortune in taxis. And now, even though it's not my fault, they said I will have to pay the visa fees (300,000 idr per day over) when I leave the country. This does not make any sense and so I am going to call the embassy and get my rights.
Up side: I LOVE the workers. They are very nice and sweet and god the extra mile. And they tryntheir best within the faulty system they work within.

We have never come across such rude, off handed immigration officers any where in the world. They were the first official people we came across when we visited Bali for our holidays. We were visitors to Bali and came with resources to spend that Bali so depend on. They were just the same when we left Bali. We will never go to Bali again if this is how they welcome visitors to the country.

They've changed the office layout and procedure for extending your visa. It's more chaotic than it used to be, but still manageable. The people working here are indifferent, which is fine for a government office. The procedure is pretty straight forward, but like many things in Bali, if you are unfamiliar with the system, it can be quite confusing. Just go in and take a number from the kiosk as soon as you walk through the entrance. Wait for them to call your number on the intercom. There are plenty of bule around if you have any questions. you can also search Google for "extend visa in Bali" and you will find some excellent articles about the process right at the top of search results. Good luck! Not a happy place.
