A good place to learn biology or zoology with your families. The zoo provides you a lot of views and animals which you can visit and observe. you just need to pay rp 30.000 for the ticket/person. Inside there are some small stall which provide drinks and foods so you don't need to be afraid of being thirsty or hungry.. but, if you go there in the afternoon, don't forget to use some sunblock or wear your hat or something to cover your face because you will feel it is hot inside.

This is one of the most favourite destination in Yogyakarta for family vacation, specially if you want ro find place for kids amusement and experience with animals and plants, many animals alive species as the collection's from this zoo. The foods price available here also not to expensive. There place is not to big so dor me it's not consume to much energy to come to the one cage to another. Have a good time here with my family

Many animals here, and now look even more modern than before. The place is clean. I really like the bird house, yoy can go in there and see and touch the bird (well i they are not running from you). There are some ride here, you can use a free shuttle if you tired or you can rent bicycle. Unfortunately some of the attraction is still under renovation when i come there, hope it will finish soon.

The best on central Java. A good place for hangout with family especially with children. No need to pay a lot of money also. I recommend to prepare drink before you walk around to inside this place. This place is big enough. Some of the spot are still being renovated. Hope it will be more interesting after finish.

Six months ago, I visited this zoo. Gembira loka zoo has many kind of animal section. I visited them all, from bird section, fish, reptiles, vertebrates, etc. This place is really large, so maybe you will feel tired to walk along the road. But, this zoo provide a mini train for all the visitor for free, from one section to another section. This place also has few stalls that provide drinks and foods. I really recommend this place for spending time here, with family. In holiday, this place usually become very crowded.

The zoo is better now than my last visit about 10 years ago. They surely made a huge renovation to the place, it makes the visitors feel comfortable with the surroundings. Also, many trees, which is good when it's sunny day. An educational yet fun place to visit with little kids on holiday.

When in Jogja this is a good place to visit. Just remember that Sunday’s are much busier than any other day of the week. Please be prepared to stand in a very long queue.

Love it.. So many animals, you can ride the train in the zoo. There are some boat and ship at the lake at the middle of the zoo. Nice place to bring kids but always watch them out

The zoo is nice and clean. A compact zoo with a lot of trees. You can bring your kids here. Accessible for baby stroller and wheel chair. A lot of small foodstall inside to buy drinks and foods. There are animal activities like penguin feeding time, elephant and camel riding, snake, parrot and turtle. The reptile section is awesome. However the staff attentiveness should be improved. Inside the zoo you can ride zoo train if tired. There are boats in the zoo also if you want to splash some water. Parking space is small. However you can park your vehicle just outside the zoo. The ticket is around 30k rupiah.

I really, really love it. It's such a beautiful and interesting place. It's got a mini-museum there, and not only it displays animals, there is also animal-shaped grass. It's got some interesting feature like the labyrinth, but unfortunately the thing is under reconstruction when I went there. Also, there are some caves which entrance is designed like a mouth of an animal.

Gembira Loka zoo, a nice place to have a good time with your family or friends. It’s located in the city center, the ticket is also affordable 30k Rupiah in weekend or holiday, also have a lot of food stands inside so don’t worry if you didn’t bring foods. And it is a good place if you want to bring your kids, a lot of fun and educating.

Good place for refreshing with family, kids, friends or boy/girlfriend. The animals collection is quite complete. Please dont give the animals food except the food that provided by animal keeper. Don't forget to watch your children while playing around the zoo

They must add more animals! Some animals that I usually found in other areas such as giraffe, zebra, jaguar didn't appear in here. Aquarium is too dark & stink. And I'll really love to see penguins in this tropical zoo! It's not rare. And so few food stands too. But others than that zoo management increased well compared than few years ago. Piramid and camels in here!

It is a good idea to bring your kids there. Try to ride an elephant for your best experience. I suggest you to use the west parking area on weekend.

Great place! Really! Especially if you love animals, kinda pricey, but worth every single penny i'd say, it's really huge and have a lot of things to enjoy, i doubt you'll get bored there, so many things to explore, you can even take pictures with some animals like snake and birds, it's a great place for spending your weekend with family or friends, highly recommended :D

a nice place for family (with kid) outing ❤️
HTM is affordable. there's so much animals that you can see, there's a museum too. a shady path to walk will make you enjoy sightseeing. a long way to walk, but it's okay there're canteens along the way 🍗🍟🍦🍬🍧🍪😁
parking area will be crowded at weekend, too far parking will make you tired before entrance the zoo 😅

Exciting recreation place for the whole family. A wide array of wildlife ranging from primates, reptiles, aves, and mammals. The whole tour by walking takes 60-90 minutes or you can take a tour vehicle for Rp20.000 (multi trip fare). Most of the area is wheelchair accessible. For the ticket price, it would be a waste if you don't explore every nook and cranny of this zoo.

P.S. the wallaby doesn't want to dance to Kangaroo Jack theme. Sad.

Much better than several years ago. You can see lots of animals. They have jackass penguin from South Africa. Apart from that, you can enjoy jogging in the morning. If you want cheaper rare and going there more frequently, please buy annual package ticket, whether in a group (four people) or as an individual.

The place is neat and tidy.
You can find some animals from Indonesia and from other countries.

For local in June 2017 you need to pay 30.000 from children above 3 y.o until adult.

You may find that some toilets are needed to pay, but so far I experienced, it is not a must to pay.

You can find foods and baverages booths inside the park with reasonable prices.

After the exit gate, you may find many souvenirs booths, in case you want to buy something.

You can rent a bicycle there. Or you may want to ride the car to go around the zoo. Unfortunately, I didnt ask for their prices.

At 11.00 - 13.00 you may want to watch their animals performances. They will have birds, orang utan, bear and otters with them.
They will also explain a bit about the animals, and all will be done in bahasa.

Our fave is the hippo.
It is so big.
I think it was the nile hippo.

For the car park you need to pay 5000 for a whole day.
I didn't notice for the motorcycle.
Must be less than that.
No vehicle is allowed to enter the park, different with Ragunan zoo.

They also provide some road for wheelchair and baby stroller.
But, I forgot to check whether they provide for both of them or not.

If you are lucky, you will find the camel and the elephant rides.
Sometimes they are not appeared.
I dont know the precise reason.
You could find take pictures with birds and orang utan too.

For now, they are working more with their labyrinth so I couldnt enter the labyrinth.

They need to fix the facilities really, some fences are broken and left that way. There aren't much staffs on some locations. I can only find them in the train shelters. You can pay for the chu chu train and boat, but I don't see any problem if you ride it without paying, because when I ride the chu chu train and the boat, I could see some people don't wear the ticket bracelet which the staffs given to me when I pay for both facilities. Their toilet is dirty and smelly as well.

I give it 5 star for the tidiness and well organized zoo. But if you are looking for varieties of animals, I'm not recommending this place. You can strool around this entire zoo for 1 to 2 hours

The price ticket isn't expensive judging from the facilities. Their animal seems to be in a good care. Staffs are very nice. Best place to go for family vacation, you can give your kids both the leisure and knowledge.

Worth the time and money you spent! Quite a big zoo and full of shady trees. You may spend like 3-4 hours to complete your animal sight seeing with various number of species. But one minus point because the animals are so passive and some carnivores are locked so far you can't even see it clearly.

The Jogja Zoo.. offers you a fantastic zoo experience, green and clean supported with good flow and facility. They have changed and decorated the old building with the modern theme good for hangout with family. Dont worry if you feel tired for walk around , the mini train rent called 'taring' are available!

Indonesian zoo is standard. Most of the animals appears to be in good shape and the park is relatively well maintained. There is train for those who prefer not to walk, ride on a boat. You can ride a camel or elephant. A or be photographed with a snake or parrot. The overall impression is good.
