We had a very pleasant stay at the friendship hostel. The rooms are very basic (bungalows are old but clean). The food served in the restaurant was really good. We enjoyed every meal especially the fried banana!. Our jungle trekking with JFK was really nice!

Nice place to stay in Ketambe. Accommodation is good and has an exceptional value for money ratio.
Go for a trekking to see the orangutans and sleep in the jungle. It is worth every second.
Really kind staff. Ahmad will assist you in everything you need.

Es gibt dort offensichtlich ein Problem mit der Hygiene der Nahrungsmittel. Neben meiner Freundin erkrankten noch mehrere Gäste zum gleichen Zeitpunkt an Darmerkrankungen. Darüberhinaus begegneten wir im weiteren Verlauf unserer Sumatrareise weiteren Gästen, die dort erkrankt sind. Liest man ältere Rezensionen, ist das kein Einzelfall. Sehr bedenklich!

Excelente opción tanto para alojarte en ketambe (precios desde 50000rp a 150000rp para habitación privada con baño privado) como para contratar el trekking para ver orangutanes. El mejor guía es JFK, que lleva 20 años, aunque si quieres ir con él mejor reservar con tiempo. Nosotros hicimos el trekking de un día (8 a 15h), los dos solos con uno de los guías, majísimo. Vimos 3 orangutanes

Nice place and friendly staff. The room is very basic. The matress is comfortable and the bed have mosquito net. The bathroom don't have shower, only a basin and a small plastic bucket, and don't have hot water. Wifi only in the living room. Ideal for pass the night before and after the jungle trekking. Good food and breakfast.
