    Check all of these:
    - Historical and culturally significant site
    - Hiking track
    - Hotsprings and fumarole (geothermal manifestation site), so its very educational
    - Warm, breezy, scenic atmosphere
    - Pine forest
    - Horse riding
    - Local coffee plantation and vegetable patches

Perfect for family short getaway from hot Semarang city. Better pack your picnic foods for more complete experience bcs foods around here is just so-so.

With paying for about Rp. 50.000 you can enter this place. That price is totally worth because the view from this place is so gorgeous, you can view lower semarang state, houses, trees, and factories are visible from up here. The air here will make you feel refreshed. Beside all of the view this place offer you a hot spring which you can enjoy with your families and friends. I recommend coming to this place when it's still weekdays, because when the weekend come, this place will be crowded and you can't enjoy to the fullest.

this place really describe the splendor of Hindu history in ancient Indonesia. Built centuries ago on a slope of ungaran mount with beautiful scenery. There are 9 temple in several location, more effort to reach the temple from one to another when hiking . But horse rent is available here. Made me sad because some people leave trashes along way to the top in this historical place

Great place to find fresh air outside Semarang city. The temples are located separately but in 1 complex. Either you walk the hill or horseback riding to reach each of the temples. Each temple has their own story and purpose. To ride a horse, you need to pay around 8p-100K per horse. For the entrance, I think around 10K.

A nice getaway from Semarang Central Java. Only 1.5hrs driving.
This Hindu temple complex offers : fresh mountain air, temples, and a hot sulfur water pool directly from the spring.
You can choose either trekking or horse-back riding to visit all the temples.
They also provide private bungalows for staying the night and playing ground for kids.
The parking lot is better now.

Great view, lousy maintenance. No guide or history banner such thing at least for walker tourist. There are second option to travel that is by horse but seems it just riding and photography. Cleanliness is bad, not enough cleaning service officer or trash bin.the horses faeces are on the side of the walkpath as they not wearing the special pants for horse.

The local government should take notice and immediate action for this to preserve the sites and surrounding natures.

Semarang also has many temple relics, not far from idul sidomukti, we can go to gedongsongo temple. With the capital to ask with the surrounding community we can find the temple that is in altitude. The cold was piercing the body even though it was a stinging hot day. There are nine temples that can be visited by foot. Far and uphill, but you can hire a horse that is there along with the tour guide.

Choose a horseback riding to go up to the peak cause my family aren't ready for hiking at all😅 it was refreshing and quite a popular place. On new years eve ppl go up to the hill and went 'dangdutan' to celebrate. The place is well taken care of and there's even a little park for kids and some souvenir store. Food is also easy to get. But be careful, the road is quite slippery in the morning.

It was raining when I got here. I only managed to reach the first smaller candi/temple. Hike up to get a better view of the temple. If you have time and the weather is permissible, hike up to the top and furthest temple to get the best view of the temple surrounded by clouds and fogs. Option, rent a horse.

Great place!! When you have arrived at this place. Make sure that you are ready for hiking. Put your sneakers, ready for bugs, for rain (outdoors), put some mosquito repellent if u want. Hey this is all about nature. Fresh air and amazing view. Don't worry about food or water, locals had it all cover until the last Temple (candi V) all the way down through exit. They provide horse if u want it, so no worry.. Have a great trip..

Candi gedong songo now is way much better than few past year when i came there. It's now in a good managed. It is good for family to spent holiday there, especially to introduce the mountainous experience to the kids.
You can go sight seeing the temple by horse or by walking/hiking. There are two kind of paths which are for horsing and for walker/hiker (pejalan kaki).
If you wanna stay overnight, there are houses in the temple area for rent.
So, what do u waiting for? Come and enjoy the panorama
