Staying in the 'confort room' and it is great! No aircon but the room is reasonably cool and has a fan. The bathroom is quite nice, a lot better than the photos made it seem. Breakfast is just an egg and some bread but it's better than nothing. There really isn't a lot to do here so having a nice place to relax in is useful. I would definitely recommend it.

The Bukit Raya guesthouse has a great vibe to it, the pictures don't really do justice. We opted for the comfort room as it had hot water although expensive, it was a bit cheaper than the a/c room, which was quite pricey and a bit over budget for us. The only con to our place was the mosquitos in the bathroom, as it is an semi-outdoor bathroom, still nice though. Our room had a loft so if there were more than two people the room should fit them fine as well (+2 on thin cots) Palangkarya is somewhat difficult to get around though the hosts are able to help with everything from airport pickup, to scooter rentals, to arranging tours with an honest local guide with fees much cheaper than that of WOW Borneo. All while doing essentially the same day activities, though with more flexibility with a custom itinerary. All together the place is very nice, the common areas around the compound contain a treehouse, hammocks, swimming pool/pond, rooftop garden ect.. One of my favorite places to stay so far while in Indonesia.

I love this place! The owners are so kind and easygoing. They cook you breakfast in the morning and they have decorated the place magnificently. The natural swimming pool has fish in it which is a great touch and theres a grassy roof to view the sunset, as well as a treehouse and other jungle themed features to play and relax on 😀

Guesthouse unik dibuat oleh orang Swiss (pa Thomas), modifikasi rumah betang terbuat dari bangunan kayu. Ada kolam renang kecil tanpa bahan kimia. Uniknya, jika orang WNI dari jakarta menginap di sini, kadang hanya sehari besoknya pindah ke hotel bintang 4, sebaliknya ada bule yg nginap di bintang 4, pas tau tempat ini lalu pindah ke sini, karna unik menurut mereka dan jarang ada di negara mereka. Rotinya unik karna dibuat sendiri.

The best guesthouse in Palankaraya. Small and cosy, full wooden rooms set around a lush tropical garden. Run by a sweet Swiss couple that are also involved in helping local communities through their foundation. They can arrange all sorts of adventures into the heart of Kalimantan. We arranged a multi week motorbike adventure with them. Highly recommended!
