Boncafe has western and Indonesian food choices. Nice food and space for family with children, company meetings, or hanging out with friends.
IF YOU EAT STEAKS: you have to tell the chef how rare you want your steaks to be. Because one time, they cook our steaks SUPER well-done, they burnt it. It's completely black on the surface. We complained to the waiter & waitress but they didn't respond well (or even politely ask to change our steak).
We wasn't really happy that time but maybe one day we'll come back.

Good steak restaurant. They are more traditional kind of steak, with lots of sauces on the steak. Not American style steak with dry meat dipped on sauce. Good one!

The place is great for lunch or dinner, I didn't order the steak but my friends did, and gave a good feedback about it. They have es putar which my friend from Thailand also liked it.

Steak specialty, first of all the place feels so homey, always full crowd everyday. Food taste good, the steak so tender. Good staff, very helpful, good service. Bathroom is nice. A little bit pricey, but still make sense

My favourite dining place. Their premium beef are the best, well the local one also taste amazing. Minus one star because they took so long to serve and eventually keep forgetting one item. Or two. Kinda sucks to wait for that long.

When i come in, they are so polite, then i sat and they gave me menus, they left me behind with no one to write my order, they didn't even ask to wait or not. They gave me menus and left me without even talking. When I'm done choosing, i can't even call them because i sat in the corner, and no one to check if i want to order or not yet. The waitress were not so polite anymore, they put the plates with no manner. Well not all of them like that though.

Clean. Many choices of food and drinks. Comfortable and convenient restaurant. I try Premium ribeye steak, but its Not tender as they said, therefore i don't know what is the difference between premium and normal one.

Not exactly a western kind of steak, more like Indonesian-Chinese steak, if you're here expecting steak like in the States or any western countries you'll be disappointed.

On the other hand if you're here without such expectation I would recommend their chicken steak, you'll like it. Crispy pastry soup used to be good until they changed the crispy pastry sheet to thinner, hollow pastry.

Great restaurant with haute cuisine ambitions. The prices are higher than usual for Indonesia, but for a westerner this place is a bargain. My food were superb, yet my girlfriend tried their Salmon flambé which they did at the table. However the salmon had been frozen, even worse it was not wild but farmed. (But I suspected that since the price tag were ~10 €)
So Boncage is not up to lets say Ramsay Gordon standards for all choices but some of them is actually very good facsimiles.

If you're not from Surabaya you have to visit Boncafé. As a chain restaurant, they have a high standards of food and services, so whichever location you choose it's recommended.

If price is not an issue, you'll be happy with their foods. The air flow of the restaurant is very bad, you can still smell the cigarette smoke even in the non smoking area.
