BloodSafe is an innovative public health technology platform from Indonesia. Since 2017, BloodSafe has been on mission to tackle the blood donation crisis in Makassar while in the same time improving the health awareness, to reduce the stigma surrounding blood donation and to increase the participatory of communities. Launched in October 2017, BloodSafe has been downloaded by more than 500+ users through Google PlayStore and Mobile web and featured in national newspapers. The idea behind BloodSafe is that no more patient dies due to unavailability of blood donors and that BloodSafe can be an alternative solution to an emergency blood request. Through a GPS based-system, BloodSafe identifies the potential blood donators within radius of 10K from the patient's location that will be notified of the need for emergency blood request. BloodSafe algorithm will ensure the compatibility of blood donators, provides direct link between the requestor and donators while allowing both the blood donators and requestor to follow up the current patient's situation realtime. BloodSafe is equips with event and news feature that allow the user to maintain their regular schedule of blood donations, works as reminder, find out the blood donation events around their area as well as health articles.
