Worst stay in 6 month of travels
The first impression was good. The room was clean and cool and the hotel staff were making an effort but things changed quickly.
We decided to do our laundry in the hotel even though it was very expensive (costing 120.000rp for 5kg = 8€, the most expensive laundry in 6 months of travels and I'm sure we didn't have more than 4kg). When we got back our clothes we noticed that my girlfriend was missing 7!! out of her 8 underpants. We quickly went to the reception and claimed the missing pieces - they said they will look for it in the laundry but nobody cared or responded back. We had to ask again and than they told us they couldn't find it. That's it. No apologies. Nothing. You can't just loose 7 pairs of underwear in the laundry. That's just not possible. Somebody must have taken them. They also lied to us that the clothes have been washed in a professional laundry but later we found out that they have been washed in their own laundry which is in a residential building near the hotel. In the end they refunded us the 120.000rp for the laundry but buying new underwear will cost a lot more and it's impossible to find proper underwear, especially on Belitung.
We didn't feel comfortable staying in this hotel anymore. The breakfast was also one of the worst we had in Indonesia and most of the buffet items were empty before 8am!! One day we went to breakfast at 9:30am and there was no breakfast anymore - nobody told us when there is breakfast but usually you can assume that there is still breakfast until 10am.
The guy who picked us up from the airport was very nice but also interested in arranging an island hopping tour for us. He urged us to to it the next day and we unfortunately agreed. When we checked the weather on the next morning the forecasts predicted rain for the whole day. We told him but he only replied "it's okey, will be sunny later, and it's better if you do it today". Although we decided not to go and agreed to do it the next day instead (we felt like there was no other choice because he was very pushy that we should do the tour). We didn't saw the sun once this day and it was very stormy and raining a lot. On the next day the weather was a bit better but at this point we couldn't enjoyed the tour anymore, our mood was already very bad. The hotel managed to ruin our trip to Belitung.
