The word Tainsiat is from balinese word Taen (ever) and Siat (war). It means there has been a great war here between balinese and netherland colonialism. Killing hundreads of balinese and their beloved king. The war it self called Puputan Badung and one of the event (siat) took place here.
Banjar also means civic centre where balinese community -including me- on this specific area gather together on several balinese event.
This place also known for one of the best ogoh-ogoh (balinese big puppet) that will be shown once a year at the event of Nyepi.response / report this review -

Kurang bijak dalam memanfaatkan fasilitas umum, sering membuat acara/menggunakan fasilitas umum/jalan raya untk kepentingan golongan, sehingga sering mengganggu aktivitas lalu lintas, banyak yg dirugikan atas kemacetan lalu lintas.

Ini banjar yang memiliki sejarah di Denpasar. Merupakan banjar yang menjadi saksi bisu perang puputan badung di jaman itu. Agar kita semua mengenangnya, maka dibuatlah nama banjar Tainsiat yang memiliki arti sisa/bekas peperangan. ❤

One of the most well-known Banjar in Denpasar and has a lot amount of historical value. And usually every year, their Ogoh-Ogoh is one of the most phenomenal in Denpasar.
