Cheap and cheerful rooms are decent enough and there is a club downstairs too

I don’t know why I keep coming back to this hotel. It must be the swimming pool. The plumbing in this old dump barley works. There’s always a toilet reservoir that doesn’t stop filling when it’s full or a shower drain backup that threatens to over flow the bathroom. Their expensive rooms are about the same prices as the equipment rooms in the much newer City or Hero Hotels which are bright and clean. I guess I like the location of the Amans, near the market, water taxis and terminal. I just wish the basic stuff worked a little better at Amans.

AMANS is a great place to be based for work in Ambon service always good and rooms good. Short walk (or becak) to some great restaurants, ok gym friendly people. Food at hotel is ok.

There are 2 different type of rooms available. Older and newer ones. I was staying at the former, meanwhile my colleagues was staying at the latter. Luckily, my room was upgraded to presidential suite due to my previous room had a problem with locking mechanism. The presidential suite was old, and old. I believed it was older than any other hotels I've visited . Despite being old, it has a spacious room with several furniture and new Air conditioning. However, the newer models just looked like a standard room like santika or amaris, so don't worry. The drawbacks are its location which is far and remote, and the food.

There are two parts to this complex and the "inn" is the older part. It's a bit grimy, but okay for budget to midrange travelers depending on one's standards. Be aware that there is an attached karaoke bar, but this didn't affect my sleep.
