Completely underwhelmed by the experience, was expecting more from a restaurant with supposedly has such a rich history. We waited almost 2 hours for our mains. Waiters not very friendly/inviting, food completely overpriced. Will not be going back here again, no

Food was ok but was expecting much more from what claims to be the oldest restaurant in town. Waiters screamed at each other the whole time, extremely unprofessional. Pretty expensive as well.

Had a lovely dinner on our last day in Budapest. The traditional fisherman soup was the best thing I had during my 4 days in Budapest. Live musicians were truly amazing! Food is a bit overpriced I think compared to other places in Budapest we've been.

Tourist trap, overpriced, huge menu, mediocre food at best. Upon asking waiter for recommendations we were given the three most expensive items as recommendations. Both dishes were bland and overcooked. Stay away.

The restaurant is cosy, the live musicians are amazing and the food is delicious. You can really feel that this is the oldest restaurant in the city. Keep in mind that it is rather expensive. However, every cent is worth it!

Our peasant tasted exactly like a chicken breast. The rest of the food was ok at best. Service was good and the band was great, but if you are out of peasant just say so. Please don't serve a chicken breast and try to get away with it.

I don't know if it's because I'm Asian and we have different food tastes, but the food for me was too salty and savory for my taste. Most of my friends couldn't finish their's. There were still a lot of customers, so I'm guessing it's because the flavor is very different from what we're used to?

The goulash was amazing. We entered in the restaurant when it was completely empty so we started to fear about the quality. I could not be any wrong. Bread is homemade, the dessert was heaven, too!

Don't believe the negative reviews. It looks like a tourist trap from the outside, but they serve good traditional food at a reasonable price in a pleasant atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the music.
