Urology: no appointment reservation is possible, long 1-2 hours waiting time in a very uncomfortable, ugly area. Badly organized, sometimes medicines are missing the patient must go out , buy and come back again. No calling when important results are ready, you should come in and find out after hours of waiting.

Urology, very long waiting, 1-2 hours. No appointment possible and they do not send any notice about the tests that are ready (e.g. biopsy). You wait for hours and do not know if the result is there or not. Lack of required medicines, the doctor tells you that go out and buy yourself come back and you will be treated. The waiting area is depressing, and it has very uncomfortable benches. Toilets are ugly beyond belief, broken doors no space etc. Avoid if possible.

ZERO MINUTES waiting time for x-ray, 5 MINUTES waiting time for ECG/EKG test and 10 MINUTES waiting time for blood tests. Each and every staff member I encountered was absolutely polite and forthcoming. On top of that, a very impressive Bauhaus era building which is not necessarily what you want for health, but the people, speed and service is just excellent.

A very old, almost historical hospital a polyclinic. A "back 100 years" feeling is guaranteed. But the enthousiasm and the engagement of peoples working there is amazing.

Excellent gynecology. Althorogh I read here they aren't speak in English, I don't know anything sure about that, but my mother language is Hungarian, so I understood everything.

At first sight I was horrified that I had to spent the night in this hospital for an operation (first time ever for an overnight hospital visit), because it is old and outdated and nothing like a US standard hospital. There was blood on the sheets and pillows, ants on the floor etc. However, the staff whom I encountered were friendly and generally more helpful than many of the other clinics (private and public) that I had been to in Budapest. Not having a TAJ card made everything more complicated and expensive but the caring attitude and helpfulness of various doctors and nurses we met turned a difficult situation into something dignified. Perhaps we lucked out with meeting all the right people, but I am grateful for the doctors and nurses at Peterfy hospital. Oh Unfortunately I can't recommend this place to other foreigners unless you speak Hungarian or have a Hungarian friend or family member at your side throughout the process, because they don't speak English. But I had my husband with me almost the entire way, and our experience was surprisingly positive.
