I came hoping for the chicken soup, but they don't serve it everyday when the weather is warm. So we had other dishes. They were all tasty, and inexpensive.

The service was poor. The girl was preatty much rude. It's a shame because we came after reading all the good reviews. The food was good, nothing special and they don't have a lot of choices for vegeterians, maybe just two-three meals.

Classic Jewish/Hungarian homemade food restaurant with generally large selection. The food is good, however I believe the place a slightly overrated as everything is pre-cooked and served in just enough portions. It feels more like a school canteen from the '90s. Try it and decide for yourself..

The place itself is nostalgic, but if one looks for a restaurant and not a museum then they will be quite disappointed. The quality is not bad, but not good either. Portions are small and prices are ridiculously high compared to the canteen quality you get. The service is pretty bad as well and don't expect to pay with cards.

Be careful what you order. This is a classic informal lunchspot with chequered red table spreads and self-yourself jugs of water. The main menu has an English translation but be wary of the translation the waiter will give to the daily menu, which is friendly but not exact. For example I ordered what I thought would be a simple beef dish, instead received beef knuckle, which is a 95% fat dish (it is a traditional dish, so not 'poor cooking' per se). Other people's food looked very nice but I couldn't touch so much fat. Prices are very fair for Pest these days, working out around 4-7 euros for a main course. Home cooking in a nice informal environment. Pay the grumpy old cashier on your way out. I would be happy to go again to try what looked like nearly all good food otherwise.

Delightful small restaurant (étkezde) that seems perfectly at home in the 1950s. A daily lunch menu has no English translation but the helpful staff will translate for you. The beef goulash is delicious! Cash only.
