The food is okay, but nothing special at all. The service was terrible, I felt uncomfortable during my dinner.
The Icon restaurant is the restaurant of the Hotel Hilton, in the castle district. It is surrounded by many tourist attractions like the Fisherman's Bastion. The food was really great, the people working here were most professional.
The view is spectacular
Tamas and gyorgos (likely misspelt his name) were incredible. Best view and lovely service. Perfect evening
Exhibits the worst habits of hotel restaurants. Food was bland, uninspired, and the menu is padded out with 'Hilton Classics', which is like listing the "funniest natural disasters". Staff is lovely and polite, but they cannot save a menu designed for the lowest common denominator of palettes. Save yourself the trouble and walk a couple blocks in either direction to pay less money for better eats.
Budapest is a beautiful city with great food and culture - but the Icon is not within either of these categories.
If it wasn't inside a Hilton and didn't have the magnificent view from the window it would've gone out of business a long time ago.
As someone else mentioned, it is a little pricey, but the food and the view do not disappoint!
I had the duck leg confit with duck liver and vanilla sour cherry ragout and a side of rice with forrest mushrooms, it was outstanding. The house Merlot was very good and the coffee at the end was just right.
