Was not a success. Buses did not keep to the timetable and it wasn’t the fault of the traffic, the other tour companies managed to get through alright. The commentary was sporadic; the staff seemed bored apart from one nice chap who kindly warned us that buses were one per hour in the afternoon. It is confusing to the tourist that all the posters show a big red double decker but it is exactly like another operator who has numerous buses. The boat trip was well organised though we had hoped to hop around the city and take in the sights, not spend half an hour waiting.

We bought this company bus pass by mistake. Our experience was the same as other tourists. Their times for pick up were never on schedule, their buses were old and often did not have a downstairs section to stay in if the weather was poor and the audios were not very interesting. They included a free river boat cruise which was the nastiest boat on the Danube. I would not recommend using them and buy a separate river cruise because there are many nicely sheltered boats operating in Budapest

The waiting time of this company it bad. I waited over an hour one time and over 45 minutes two other times.
There are not many staff around at the stops to help you if you need it. And if you get a few day pass keep your headphones as u won't be getting a second pair. Although I gave up on the second day because of the waiting times.
It's good value for money I have to say but only if you do everything included in the ticket.
I wish I had paid more money and gone with another company. Who's buses were a lot more frequent and cleaner.response / report this review -

Avoid the giraffe! For an audio tour they wouldn't give us earphones. The headphones on the seats were drenched as they been lying in the rain. The hostess in the bus shrugged it off saying it was the fault of the previous hostess. It was the same story on other Giraffe buses too. The yellow route had been changed with no intimation to us- we were struggling to figure out the new stops with ones marked in the map. All in all a very poor tour.

The pro was nice to get an overview of the city. Con: long wait times and because of a thunderstorm stopped running and asked everyone to get off handing out yellow ponchos. We were told to take the bus to get back to our hotel. I assume their are more professional and better ways to see the city. Definitely recommend exploring options before buying a ticket with this organization.

If you want to enjoy Budapest you better run away from this company and use public transport as any normal person. You will save time and money. Still, if you fall in this trap, you will enjoy the chaotic timetable, the confusing ghostly stops, the prehistoric buses, and some rude workers.

Yellow Bus stop #19 was cancelled without any announcement. We lost 1 hour and gone to #18 where should wait another 37 minutes (instead of max 30 in the official info) to get one. Vehicles looking very secondhand. Headphone was missing. Bus drivers are stressed.
But Budapest is wonderful. It is a pity to miss 2 hours to explore it.response / report this review -

Worked great for us, no wait or lack of seats. We didn't use the headphones since we only wanted to take I the sights so I wasn't bothered about the state of the headphones. However, why allow people to buy tickets only when one then needs to print this them? We had to go to the ticket office to get actual paper tickets. Why not use a barcode scanner on the buses? Also, we had the driver make wrong turns on both the red and yellow line requiring the bus to back up again. Hopefully their drivers are properly skilled and trained!

The buses provided a sweet relief to a raining and freezing day. The tour was informative but, reused head phones on the bus seemed extremely gross. As the night skies cleared we headed for the boat tour which was inconveniently the farthest dock from the dropping off point of the buses. As we ran up to the dock exactly at embarkation time the assistant told us to head down the gangway, up the stairs and onto the boat. We ran down and up the stairs onto the boat, to which I asked the employee in a vest "Is this where we board or do we go to another place?" She replied in a demeaning tone "This is the bar! The boats not here" and proceed to laugh and mock me in front of the other employees. (A simple "No sorry, this is the bar. The boat is coming," would have been fine) This was extremely frustrating as I had just been given instructions that THIS was the boat and at this time was late, so I had reason to worry we had missed it. 30 minutes past time a boat showed up. Customer service is extremely lacking with this company.

We got this and it was easy to use. The guide was informative. We saw everything we needed to see of Budapest using this bus. We also had no problems finding bus stops.
The only down is there are not enough busses and when you get off the bus the next bus take a lot of time to come.
The free boat tour on the river at night was defiantly a plus and makes this bus tour worth the money. The boat tour was amazing. Cold: bring a sweater! The views of Budapest by night was even better then the day tour.response / report this review
