Named after bishop Gellért, a venetian monk, who was brought by King István to educate his son. Locals were not all so happy with recent conversion, to Christianity, and through the monk down the hill

The view is breathtaking. Definitely a must do when visiting budapest. There are a few cool slides for kids on the way and many many romantic places for a picnic.

Takes max 1 hour to walk up to the Citadel, where there are viewing platforms down onto the Danube and the entire inner city. Atop the hill is the iconic Liberty Statue. On way up can visit the Caves.
