I was strolling along the street in the cold evening, looking for a warm place for my dinner. The watch kept ticking and it was already 8pm.
I was torn between this restaurant or the Italian trattoria just across. I decided to walk in to Dionysos and you will be greeted with bright interior immediately.
The food was amazing, go for the fish or seafood if you do not know what to pick. They have a good selection of local wines as well.
The best part of the restaurant was the warm welcome and sincere smile from the service manager, Mr. Bilal. He did all he could to ensure everyone has an enjoyable meal. I would say, he is probably the best hospitality personnel I ever met in my 3 days stay in Budapest!response / report this review -

Favorite restaurant in Budapest! Food is always fresh and delicious. Major selection of dishes. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Also atmosphere is great- feels like you're actually in Greece.

Simply amazing on all fronts. The free starter humus dish is delicious. We all fully enjoyed our meals and every dish that came out looked fantastic. The lamb here was some of the best I've had. You will not be disappointed

The best restaurant experience I had recently. Very friendly staff, very nice atmosphere. Interior and all facilities were perfect. The musaka had cinnamon, which was not according to our taste, but we were not charged, which was very kind. Everything else was perfect. We totally recommend this place.

An amazing experience! The restaurant is like a Taverna but built as if in a village. The food is exquisite and very varied. The staff are very efficient, professional and made our experience feel very special. Reasonable prices. You really have to visit the toilets to experience them. It is like being in a Star Trek episode. Well done Dionysos and thank you.

If you like Greek food, this restaurant is a perfect choicebut generally a very good restaurant in Budapest with great atmosphere. Waiters are nice and kind, food is high quality and delicious. Highly recommended also with family or with friends..

Definitely my best meal while staying in Budapest. Great Greek option not too far out of the city centre. The food was amazing just as the overal service in the restaurant. If you are visiting here definitely take a tour in the downstairs toilets, this experience was a once In a lifetime!

One of the best restaurants in Budapest where fresh nice and delicious food can be found. I highly recommend to order any fish meal and my personal favorite is the fish soup which can be prepared with cream or without cream with tomato base.

We love this place, eat here every time we come to Budapest. Great seafood and whole fish. Friendly service even if you don't order wine or booze. Try this place you will not be disappointed. The Italian restaurant next door is super great too. Both on the river, nice views.

Fantastic food. Huge selection of meals and drinks. The Dionysus Plate offers a delicious selection of meat and side dishes. The staff was also super friendly and spoke good English. Love the whole place.

Wow! The best Greek experience outside of Greece! Fantastic food and friendly staff set the standard for what a great night dining out should be. The setting was a fantastic replica of a Greek Taverna with an atmosphere to match. Silvester, the head waiter was absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Highly recommended and if we weren't going home tomorrow morning we'd definitely dine here again!
