William has the facts just a bit wrong, the hospital has been running at a reduced capacity, sometimes only with clinic service, since 2007. But the facility never closed. After undergoing a major renovation courtesy USAID ASHA and the Presbyterian Church USA, which is nearly completed now in March 2012, the place is serving more of the population again. There are three campuses for the hospital in Leogane, Belval and Darbonne, and a number of outlying clinics and dispensaries. The guest house at the hospital is supplemented by a residential research training center operated with the Univ. of Notre Dame, and the adjacent Nursing School (also sponsored by the Episcopal Church) is building a guest house as well. So please, all should feel welcome! Leogane also features a hotel, run by Haitian- American soccer mogul TORO (he's also a Rotarian, so a good guy!)
