The hotel itself was nice. The room was always clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast was good too. The drinks were overpriced (American prices, such as $8 for a rum and coke). The issue I had with this hotel is they were very VERY sloppy when cleaning the room. They would go into the room and start cleaning, but then leave the room with the unlocked and opened for long periods of time. I know this because one morning we did leave the room at about 9:30 AM for breakfast. Then about 10 minutes later my friend tried to go back but said they were in the room cleaning, later I went back about 10 minutes after him and there was no one in the room and the door to room was left unlocked and cracked open, and the room was half way cleaned with no one inside. I left figuring they'd be back soon but about 20 more minutes later we all came back and the room door was still left opened and unlocked and nothing was touched in the room since the last time I went in. So this means that the cleaning staff left the door to the room unlocked and opened for at least 30 minutes while they left and did something else. Additionally, we went back in the room and stayed there for over an hour and no one came back to finish cleaning it until after we left.
To add insult to injury my tablet/computer was missing, I know this because when we first arrived at the hotel I took it out of my bag and put it on the chest of drawers that the TV was on. I asked the manager at the front desk about it, so she asked the rest of her team if they have it or know where it is, they of course said no, they didn't see it nor have it. This may be true, however they leave door to the rooms open for long periods of time while cleaning, so they may not have taken it but who is to say someone else staying or working at the hotel didn't go in and take it? Why would they leave the doors unlocked and clearly open in an open air hotel?
The point is don't stay here, unless you want to run the risk of your things being stolen out of your room during the long periods of time they leave the door unlocked and open while cleaning the room. I'd suggest stay at the Marriott, yes it's less of a unique place to stay and it costs a little more, but would you rather have your stuff stolen out of the room?response / report this review -
