  Very close to Labadee but the public has access. Locals call it Belly Beach. They serve very fresh food as well

  Fort Belly was built around 1780 and armed with 4 canons and 2 mortars. It was part of the French coastal defenses in colonial times. 3 canons still lie in place covered by weeds.
  
  The fort is named after its original commanding officer, Mathieu Belly (who was one of my ancestors).
