The resort was gorgeous. However, ther weren't many excursions and there wasn't night life scene as advertised. But it is a great place to relax and get away. Food was the best part.so yummy😁
The resort is amazing. A private beach with cabins 30 feet from the water. The staff is very friendly and will do their best to accommodate your every need. As a vegetarian I never went hungry. The food was great but they also had plenty of Haitian delicacies. This was the most relaxing trip I had ever been on.
Abaka Bay Resort is a wonderful hotel at a human scale. The staff is kind and always ready to help. The food, while limited in choices, is excellent. The rustique bungallow I lived in for two days with my family is very comfortable and is located right in the beach . I enjoyed the warm and "azur blue" beach and could walk with a guide make a tour of the island. Wonderful experience. I will go back again. Strongly recommend.
If you want to recharge and feel alone in the world, go there
Amazing place! Truly paradise!
My apologies for this very late post! I had the luxury of staying at this beautiful resort with some of my friends and family. I don't know if it was long over due for a vacation but I had the time of my life! Amazing staff Almeda, Christine, and Midline (hope I spelled that right) was excellent! The efforts that all the amazing staff did to make us feel welcome was nothing short of a phenomenal job! I definitely would come back again, especially when I need a sweet getaway. Thank you for your generosity and hospitality.
Beautiful! Friendly staff , good Haitian food, and beautiful clear water. We had coconuts, mangoes and tablet. We wanted to go horseback riding but it started to rain. They helped us arrange a tour of Saut Mathurine (waterfall) which was an amazing view and experience. Also was able to see "the village". I would suggest to pack a lot of mosquito repellent. They also Provided shuttle ride from port au prince airport and back. I would definitely go back.
Tranquility. White fine sandy beach. Great view.
It a paradise. They should have more food variety
It was okay
But nothing of extraordinary. Very relaxing and peaceful
We chose this place for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. It's a wonderful place for relaxation, hiking , snorkeling, horse riding the food is amazing and the staff very welcoming. The reason why this place is not earning five stars is because of how dirty the wharf from les Cayes is. It's a despicable imagery of les Cayes. Although this has nothing to do with Abaka but it still leaves a bad first impression. Abaka should protect their investment by calling out the city authorities who fail to fulfill their duties because those piles of trash can really make one loose interest to catch the ferry to the island.
I really do it's very a vacation place
The place is gorgeous!
Great service. Nicest place in haiti. Ill be back soon
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE..the worst experience we've ever had in the Caribbean. The cost is much higher than what you are getting. Awful rooms, very poor furnished, no fridge bar, no comforts at all, the faucets with no running water, uncomfortable beds, all the place is full of mosquitoes, we got bitten all time long and if you ask for a can of spray to get protected from the mosquitoes they sell
$ 20.00 for one small can. Plus a black pearl necklace from our room vanished. There have never changed the tablecloths . poor service, poor everything PLEASE DO NOT GO.HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I travelled to Abaka Bay two weeks ago and stayed there for a week, I was there with my family which comprises of my four boys ages 10, 9, 3 and 22 months, my 16 years old neice, my husband and best friend. I have wanted to come to Abaka since I first heard about it many many years ago, this year we finally took the plunge and came, best decision ever!!! It was an amazing experience, words cannot explain but I will give it a try. I really don't know where to start. I felt like royalty, from the time the boat picked us up in Les Cayes, the treatment has been stellar, we met the owners Dinah and Fernan right off the boat, they were so nice and welcoming I felt at home right away. The staff at Abaka bay is out of this world, I have never experienced such a wonderful service anywhere else and I have been many places. My husband came to Abaka bay sick, at dinner Julien (who is a sweetheart) noticed he wasn't eating much and asked him if he was feeling okay, once he found out my husband wasn't well he told him he would make him some tea (again what other resort would do that for you?) Not only he brought him tea, He also brought him some special soup and kept checking on him, Jean who is the resort manager, also brought him some lemon juice and medicine and come came to check on him and within hours my husband was back on his feet feeling brand new. For that I will be ever so grateful. My husband and I were so touched by these kind gestures.
The accomodations were great, we stayed right on a beach in one of the deluxe beach front room, it was very nice and clean, service was prompt, it has air conditioning and a small fridge always stocked with fresh water., What more can a girl ask for?
The food is excellent!!! Buffet style fresh meals three times a day, seafood galore. I felt so special because everytime I walk in to eat I see my table ready with two highchairs. The service is so personal, I like that.
The also have many wonderful excursions we went snorkling, kayaking, we went on an excursion on Lover's island, we also went on a hike into town to see the islanders whcih was so much fun. My boys had such a wonderful time, they cannot stop talking about it. If you are looking for an experience of a lifetimecome to Abaka Bay, you will not regret it I promise you. I am counting the days until I return and rest assured that I will be back.
