A very nice spot and very nice botanical garden in it, but we can said that the staff was bad. We usually never made a complaints and we either haven't done it here, but comment it among ourselves. The reason for it could be found in season job employees which haven't been trained and haven't been paid well so their motivational could be below zero.

The food quality is standard which means very good

Great food and atmosphere in a lovely garden setting. The restaurant is located in a place that used to be a botanical garden. We had dorado, sea bass and squid - and it was delicious!

We find Croatia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world! Therefore, we come here at least 5-6 times a year. Vis is a special jewel - both landscape wise and for historical reasons.

We visited Villa Kaliopa for the second time. The first good impression (August 2016) could not be held up at the second time (July 2017). Unfortunately, it can be subsumed under the title "absolute tourist trap".

The service is unmotivated and badly trained - drinks are only popped on the table and not even poured in glasses. Too bad, because the quality of the food is quite good. The prices on the menu (eg: 1 main dish mussels a la buzzara for 1 person approx. EUR 22) turn out to be a mockery when making the actual order (we received one main dish plate with the comment that it is supposed to be already for 2 persons and therefore costs approx. EUR 44 - if this wasn't not enough, we should have ordered 2 more portions, amounting to approx. EUR 88 for two persons). No comment on such practices. After politely complaining about this circumstance, an arrogant and inadequate managing director emerged. No one is interested in customer friendliness at this place. Too bad.

Our tip: take a look at the beautiful garden, and then dine somewhere else!

Definitely the best fish I've had in my life. Such a nice restaurant in the beautiful 16th century garden. Friendly staff and low prices.

A beautiful garden setting with the freshest fish in town. This restaurant is the only place to visit in Vis. Perfect service, perfect food and amazing setting. You won't see this anywhere else ..

Food was very tasty in this place, but we were not happy with the service. We chose a fish and they gave us the size of 2 and a half serving sizes (and of course we were charged accordingly). When they told it to us, they wouldn't let us change dishes. The bill was super expensive and they didn't accept cards for payment and lastly, they never gave us back the change, even if we were planning to tip at the end.
