Very nice little church. It lies on top of a staircase. If you have seen game of thrones you will recognize the place
They have an English Mass at 11 on Sundays.
Amazing, in the centre of a gorgeous city
Steps lead up (famous as the start of the 'walk of shame' from Game of Thrones) to this gorgeous looking Church and a slightly higher view down into the harbour area and up to the walls. Worth a visit and not a long walk. Easy to see why the area makes good fantasy and historical filming locations! So many Churches near and the active important religious beliefs/buildings make the fine to HBO for nudity scenes filmed in the city easily understandable!
Very nice place and area
If you like sacral baroque architecture you will want to take a look and or a photo of this beautiful church!
Probably the nicest church of Dubrovnik. Interesting decorations inside.
St. Ignatius Church - beuatiful sacral Baroque architecture ("Roman Baroque"). The church was built after the great earthquake of 1667 (project by Andrea Pozzo, renowned Jesuit architect and painter who was called to the City in 1699). Pozzo had finalized the plans by 1703 and the church construction was completed in 1725. The interior is decorated by magnificent Baroque frescoes with scenes from life of St. Ignatius de Loyola painted by Gaetano Garcia. Nearby: Baroque building of the Jesuit college (Collegium Ragusinum, today Dubrovnik Classical Grammar School) built according to the original project of Rangnina and Canali and fantastic Baroque concave-convex monumental staircase leading to Gundulić Square (square in the middle of the old city, also built after the earthquake of 1667) designed by the Roman architect Pietro Passalacqua in 1738.
Quiet, but large church off the Main Street. Looks run down outside but it is well kept inside. It will give you a good reason to get out of crowded portion of the city. Not worth making a journey but if you are in the city, check it out.
They have mass at 19:00 every day and English mass 11 am every Sunday during the tourist season.
