I visited yesterday but it’s under renovation. Need to check before your visit
The atmosphere in the restaurant was quite nice but from other descriptions we thought that we would receive high quality food. It was okay, but nothing special. I've been missing some vegetarian options.
Ask for ante, he's the guy! Don't miss the risotto or ravioli from the warm starters.
Aspects of the food were good but not inline with the high price. Service was not good but amusing. They didn't take our order. They just stood around. Brought plates. Took them away. Brought plates again. Weird. We just laughed. Would have been happy except for the cost. Nice views. Classy.
Food was very good not to mention the friendly service from staff. The tiramisu was awesome, the best I have ever had so far! Both the outdoor and indoor decor were of high standard. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Nice location, food was ok. The service was great right up until we finished our meal. Our waiter seemed to disappear and we asked 5 times for our bill. After about 45 minutes of waiting and asking, we finally managed to pay and leave.
I'm sorry, but I really don't get why this restaurant has such a high score.
We were there a few days ago. Based on the score on Google and the positive reviews we were really looking forward to it.
When we arrived the restaurant was filled with what was clearly a bus load of tourists all having the same meal. After they left it was us and one or two other tables left.
The staff was attentive and did their best, and the menu seemed promising enough. We were first served a mouthful of tuna mousse that tasted like tuna straight out of the can.
The appetizers were not bad, but also not very interesting. I had mediocre ravioli with prawns and venus shells that had far too much sand in them. The occasional grain is fine, but this was way more than that.
The Monkfish medallions I had as my main course were dry and there was too much gnocchi, and it was all drowing in sauce.
My husband had lamb confit that sounded great in the menu, but turned out to be a completely tasteless piece of meat, barely seasoned with salt and pepper and served with "potato rolled dough stuffed with prociutto", which was basically a few bits of cured ham stuffed into dry mashed potato. Not great.
On the bright side the wine was pretty good. On the not so bright side; when my husband asked for a dry martini they gave him martini bianco with a dash of something brown and bitter to make it a "dry martini"
We went somewhere else for coffee and desert. Will not be going back to Kornat.
One of the best meals of my life. We picked the fish we wanted and they turned it into a multi course meal. If you like yourself go here.
Restoran Kornat was the perfect pit-stop in our day trip to Zadar, with excellent service, a beautiful view of the harbour and the best food we would have this trip to Croatia. I would highly recommend that you include a meal here to your travel plans.
The staff were very accommodating of my coeliac's disease, and provided me with a safe and delicious version of their "John Dory fish fillet in a lemon and orange sauce with jullienne vegetables". My dining partner had the "Octopus confit in a sun dried tomatoes sauce with potatoes and chickpeas" and pronounced it one of the best meals he's ever had. We also had some fresh wild oysters with lemon juice, and a great local white wine.
Fantastic service 5/5, great location 4/5, very tasty food 4/5, good value 4/5, nice atmosphere 3/5. I'd suggest to jump right to the main courses, try either the octopus or the tuna steak. Both amazing, well designed plates and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Appetisers (homemade ravioli and St. Jacob scallops carpaccio) were so-so. Went with the Graševina Mitrovac Krauthaker 2015 and were delighted. Five people, 2 appetisers, 5 mains, one bottle of wine, 1245 kuna (167 euro).
Fantastic service, delicious food (monkfish was superb and so was the beef!) and breathtaking views. Do yourself a favour and reserve a table outside at around 7:30 and you should see the sunset as you progress through your meal!
