We (a family of 4, with 2 teenage children) have just finished a wonderful week diving with Ivan and his crew. We decided to complete the full diving course of 5 dives to become qualified. All the equipment was new and we felt safe that it appeared well looked after and maintained. Ivan and the crew took time with each of us and taught us in pairs. Their approach and skill was wonderful - they were ideal teachers: calm, patient, sensitive and always clear and easy to understand. They made it all fun too - they were sensitive to it being our holiday as well as a lesson. At the end of the 5 dive training course we then decided to continuing diving, including taking the ship wreck dive. This was brilliant! In one week we moved from complete beginners, to diving to 18m depths, swimming around a ship wreck and watching shoals of fish. I wholeheartedly recommend this company. It has been a wonderful way to spend a holiday!

I could not imagine a more courteous, kind, or professional guide than Ivan and his crew. It was my wife's first time scuba diving and she was very nervous and had some trouble getting used to it, but Ivan stayed with her the whole time, calming her down and gently encouraging her to go down. We are very grateful and highly recommend this company to anybody looking to scuba dive near split, whether you are experienced or a first timer. You will have a great time for a great price with a great crew!

Ivan and the crew were amazingly professional and helpful. We had an unique experience. It was my first dive and I loved it. We went on the speed boat to an island and had beautiful view.
Temperature was perfect and my brother who has dive before, said the equipment looked new and in perfect condition.

It was a great experience. We were in Croatia with a small baby in May 2017 and both of us wanted to learn diving. Guys from Open Sea offered us very flexible course which fitted our schedule and allowed both of us to complete it. One of us did practical exercises in the morning and another one in the evening. We basically got really nice private courses. + level of safety and attention was on the top level. We did courses in Zadar and then we did dives in Split with the same company. Again it was a full satisfaction.

Simply amazing experience. It was my fiance's first dive after completing a diving course. Ivan and his two crew members Raphael and Danny were all extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot. I went snorkeling while they went diving and I was able to see them most of the time. We all saw starfish, crabs, a cuttlefish and even a seahorse, which they told is really rare! Diving with them was the highlight of our trip to Split.

First we make a couple of dives in Zadar with same company. My daughter also finished a diving course. It was really nice experience and we was more than satisfied. After Zadar we decided to spend a couple of days in Split and also do some divings. We chose Open sea Split and I can just say that was awesome. The boat and equipment is all new. The dive sites are even better than in Zadar. The owner and crew was very professional and you feel safe all the time. Everything is organized. The equipment is waiting in the boat before the trip. Definitely recommend!!!

Ivan and his colleague were very welcoming and kind. We were a few newbies to scuba and they took time to explain how to scuba and answer any questions, and even took some time to get to know us a little bit. Scuba is one of the most memorable things I've ever done, and these two made it very enjoyable.

Unfortunately one of the worst experiences in my life. Equipment was old and in bad condition compared to other Diving Centers in Croatia.
We were five divers in total (three independent groups) and we specifically booked the shipwreck dive as promoted on their homepage. Apparently the weather wasnt good enough to dive for the shipwreck and they decided to go to another spot without letting us know upfront. (He didnt change course while we were on the boat, he admitted that we werent going to the shipwreck from the start). Of course this led to a discussion, since other diving spots were not that interesting to us. The dives took about 30 minutes, we went up with about 120 bars left in our tanks. When we asked about the shipwreck on the boat he told us he couldnt know how good of a diver we are so he didnt want to take us on a possibly dangerous dive. After recalling him of the fact that he assured us that the ship wreck dive was really easy and shallow and even told him about the review of a first time diver being able to dive the ship wreck he suddenly started talking about bad weather conditions.
we wouldve been totally fine with a change of plans IF he had told us upfront that the weather conditions were too bad to go to a certain spot. Instead he tried talking himself out of it We assume he just didnt want to risk not having any divers if he told us the change of plans. what were we supposed to do once we were on the boat? On top of that he refused to give us stamps for our log book.
We will definitely never come back to this Diving Center again.response / report this review -

It was our first time diving so we picked the discovery package. That included equipment, transportation to the two exploration locations and the actual diving introduction activities. We went over to the island of Brac, then to a shipwreck nearby. Ivan and his crew were very professional, patient and easygoing, teaching us the basics and then guiding us underwater. I've been having major issues with equalizing the pressure at first, but thanks to more detailed guidance and patience of one of Ivan's crew members I was finally able to properly submerge. Breathtaking experience! Highly recommended!

One of the coolest dives I've been on. Great team and very knowledgable staff. Also extremely friendly. The dive center is in a cool camping area just outside the city - if you take a taxi and they tell you its near Zadar they are wrong! Saw a neat shipwreck and many cuttlefish that would come close enough to touch. Would highly recommend Ivan and his staff.
