Lovely restaurant. Very friendly, welcoming staff serving great food. To reach the restaurant there are a few steps to overcome. Although the prize is superb views of the inlet.
We enjoyed our meal so much we stayed to drink spirit's post dining, whilst the owner talked of 1987 when we were storm bound in this place for 2 days and a kind home owner fed us all. Turning his house into a restaurant.

Hmm.. Friendly people, but certainly not the best restaurant on the island. The menu is not offering a wide range. If you're into sea food, this might be a good place, if not, your options are limited. Music quite loud, a strange odour of rotting vegetables where our table was. It all came across as rusty and even somewhat creepy has been atmosphere of past glory. The okuklje bay does not give you the wider views of others in Mljet, this gives the place a little claustrophobic feel. You don't see the sun or the moon, or the seashore.

We'd still be floating out in the bay if they hadn't helped us moor, we then went for a lovely dinner in the evening. Great food and friendly staff who gave us lots of sailing tips.

They also offer free WiFi and charging ports.

We arrived in OKUKLJE bay on the island of Mjlet and were welcome by the amazing LInda. Once we were moored stern to the dock Linda invited us to experience a wonderful culinary evening at the family restaurat MAESTRAL. We strolled to the restaurant up on the hill, where we first enjoyed an incredible view. Linda then explained the mouth watering special for the evening, and seuggested a lovely white wine to start off things. We started with grilled sardines and octopuss carpaccio, the best we ever had. Then we continued with fresh grilled fish also red snapper in a home made house sauce with vegetable, polenta and potatoes. If this was not enough we induldged in a decadent lava chocolate cake with ice cream and a fruit couli. The ambiance, the food and the service were as good as it gets🍷 We strongly recommend you make a stop on your first day of cruising and on your return, at the end of the week.
