Istrian food to my taste. Perfect!

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever encountered.
Food was good but an absolute disaster regarding service. After waiting for 45min for a cold starter meals started to arrive with a 10min difference between meals. Waiter obviously forgot about our order. I ordered a steak with oven baked potato and nobody asked me how would I like my steak done. I got a rear steak with mashed potatoes.
Prices are enormous and you get really poor service in return.
During the entire meal nobody asked us anything

Highly recommended. Quality of the food is excellent. Prices are high but it is so worth a visit. Make reservation on the weekend.

Staff were excellent - friendly, accommodating, multilingual and tolerant of our family (even when we turned up with very young children without a midday reservation). Prosciutto and truffle cheese on our meat and cheese board appetizer were extraordinary, other dishes (fish pasta, grilled veal with mashed potatoes and grilled pork steak for kids) were all very good and perfectly prepared if not exceptional. The sauce in particular on veal was nice and loved the sautéed onions (which were used in the sauce) were mixed into the mashed potatoes for a nice pairing to the meat and with depth of flavor. Would like to have tried the lamb (need to order this ahead, unfortunately for us), grilled fish (which looked and smelled amazing, but would have to go back another time for these.

One of the best places in Istra to eat. Great choice of food and wine. Located away from the main road in a peaceful area but not far from Umag. It's a must visit place.

Unique place for freshly prepared meals. Truffle pasta, meat, and fish were all fresh and delicious. Jakovska Kapica (considered one of the best shellfish on the market) was grilled in the wood burning oven next to the table. Great selection of local wines. Friendly service and cozy atmosphere.

I love this place cause it has a really nice terrace and really good food. Try fuži with truffles or the steak. Also, there is always some award winning olive oil which you can sprinkle all over your food. And a huge selection of wine by the glass. Each time I was here, it was good so I can really recommend it :)

We visited Buščina after a day of touring wineries. We were greeted by Sandra, who was just the star of the whole place. She was wonderful with her recommendations and attentive service.
The fish dishes are cooked and presented beautifully - we had a lovely evening.
Look out for the Swallows that come back to nest in the roof each year.response / report this review
