Nice cafe in foyer of famous cinema "Europa". The atmosphere is very artistic and also you can meet really people from the film industry, especially one from non-commercial part.
They serve premium sort of coffee. For city center the price are reasonable.

Cozy place located in Zagreb's center, where one can come watch great movies (usually ones from the not so conventional side and also hosts some pretty good movie festivals) but also drink excellent coffee, tea, mulled wine or bear. The bar has nice staff, fast service and attracts urban, artsy crowd. I like coming here for both the cinema and having drinks with friends.

We came across this spot at the advice our our Lonely Planet guide and I'm glad we did! It is a cool vibe, an old movie theater, with an amazing outdoor patio space. Drinks are affordable and the staff was attentive - and they greet you with popcorn at your table! It was a perfect spot to sit and talk for a while!

A long, long time ago, under the name "Balkan", it used to be the beacon of all cinemas in Zagreb. Now it's a decrepit place that hasn't been refurbished in decades and thus cannot keep up with modern film-going standards. That makes it a natural go-to place for patrons of hipster and artsy-fartsy persuasions (hard to tell the difference, really) and various fringe film festivals and events are being hosted there. If you feel like belonging to the cultural elite, and enjoy uncomfortable seats and funny-smelling popcorn while watching a film about your favorite political agenda, knock yourself out (even literally, as far as I'm concerned).

One of the oldest cinema hall in Zagreb, which has survived to this days. Beautiful antique hall gives a special atmosphere during watching movies. In kino Europa are held numerous film festivals and they have a all year-round program. Also, there is the famous cafe/pub that serves as a gathering place for many artists and young people.
