Trace croatian history in this small church. Learn how the Baška tablet was created. The old writings are writen with glagoljica letters. For a historian this is a ideal research spot.

Crkva sv.Lucije datira iz 11.st.
Poznata je po najstarijem glagoljskom spomeniku u Hrvatskoj, tzv. Bašćanskoj ploči.
Ploča je izvorno stajala kao pregrada između oltara i prostora puka. Vremenom je pala na tlo i njezina prazna pozadina je stoljećima služila kao kameni pod.
Krajem 19.stoljeća slučajno je podignuta. Pronađen je glagoljski zapis pisan uglatom glagoljicom.
Sadržaj ploče je darovnica kralja Zvonimira redovnicoma,opatu Držihi i braći
Invokacijom, započinje slovom A, a završava s O (Alfa i omega = početak i kraj).
Ukrašena s 11 listova vinove loze govori ne samo o tradiciji vinarstva na krku, već označava i jedanaesti vijek u kojem je nastala.response / report this review -
