Very nice church to enter. Unfortunately the original church was collapsed due to the earthquake. What you saw right now is the new construction that continues to have some renovation. As it is limestone, it is important to have renovation all the time else it will be like the example of stones in front that are not well taken care of. The clock you saw was the broken one collapsed from the earthquake. A lot of interesting fact insight that you should get a guide to walk you through the church.

Beautiful church with amazing history. Word of advice though, if you are planning on visiting the cathedral, don't wear shorts. You are not allowed in with shorts on.

Just very nice, whole city is sort of small but very nice and Cathedral is something what everyone should definitely visit during the time in Zagreb. Is gives the city that flavor it deserves. It is sometimes hard to believe that this country was not long ago in the war. I'm so happy to come back every time.

The Zagreb Cathedral is a Roman Catholic institution and not only the tallest building in Croatia but also the most monumental sacral building in Gothic style southeast of the Alps. It is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and to kings Saint Stephen and Saint Ladislaus. The cathedral is typically Gothic, as is its sacristy, which is of great architectural value. Its prominent spires are considered to be landmarks as they are visible from most parts of the city.

It's a Gothic cathedral like all European Gothic cathedrals. What made it stand out to me were the gardens outside but that's not part of the cathedral. I don't think a Gothic Cathedral in Europe is capable of less than four stars unless you didn't bring the proper attire and are judging it based on its rules, which have been around for 2,000+ years. So stick a pair of jeans and a scarf in your backpack. What's the big deal? Respect. It goes a long way.

Stunning architecture, so many interesting things to see. I've noticed that many people are complaining about dress code. Sorry but every religion should be respected with all of it's rules no matter who you are or from where you are coming from.

Might be amazing but I wouldn't know.

My girlfriend wasn't allowed in due to wearing shorts (longer than mine). Other women wearing incredibly short skirts are allowed in.

I know churches are behind the times but I don't think this kind of sexual discrimination should be allowed in the 21st century

Great church, stunning architecture, but I am personally not a huge fan of dress codes for churches. I respect the religion, but come on, people should be allowed to wear shorts. Inside was a rather depressive atmosphere which might be common for Catholic churches though. Lots of large paintings and interesting monuments.

Gothic and spiritual place, with extensive restoration work in progress. Definitely worth visiting for 15 mins and even attend a service if you have time. Lots of history, with explanation in various languages. It's a little dark inside but very welcoming to visitors. Photography is allowed but please be considerate as there are worshippers also.

This cathedral was built in 1906 on the site of the cathedral destroyed in the earthquake. The restoration of the cathedral in the Neo-Gothic style was led by Hermann Bollé, bringing the cathedral to its present form. As part of that restoration, two spires 108 m (354 ft) high were raised on the western side. The cathedral contains a relief of Cardinal Aloysius Stepinac with Christ done by the Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrović.

Not only the tallest building in Croatia but also the most monumental sacral building in Gothic style southeast of Alps. It's gorgeous inside and out and can't be missed since it's really close to the main square (Ban Jelačić) and easy to find. Must see!
