  The Iguana Research and Breeding Station is a vital source of information about the bidiversity of Utila (and for the world) it studies the Ctenosaura bakeri (Swamper) wich is a endagered species. They help because they care.

  You really only need 30 minutes here unless you want to volunteer or go out on one of their trips. Baby iguanas and a few adults in big cages.

  If you love animals and want to protect the nature they live in, the Iguana Station is a great place to be. Dedicated to environmentalists who want to share and learn exciting facts about a unique island dragon living only in the Utila Mangrove world wide. If it isn´t worth to sea local animals which only been rediscovered for science in 1996 to be still alive on this planet than i don´t know :). The nice volunteers will answer you any questions and you can be an volunteer, too. PS: The station is financed by donations only.

  It's free you see a few iguanas in cages but really not worth the time to go.
