The location is great, the reefs, except for the home reef, are top notch, and Mat the chef is wonderful. The islands are well worth touring
I will just mention a few things to watch out for
a) hot water in rooms- forget about it. They will try but as far as I understand, can not provide. This was a recurring issue also with other guests when we stayed.
b) Cancelation fee and refund- forget about it. Worse than the IRS. Money paid is money gone. (in our case it was simple over payment to nature reserve. No Biggy. For other people staying when we were- a lot more) So plan your advance payments.
c) requests for specific dive sites. You can request, you can even offer to pay more, but the staff will do as they please. They have other things on their mind and you are there not to disturb them. Mind you these are important things – fish surveys, fixing moorings, self training, etc. So your job is to pay for the costs while they go on their important things.
d) Be very clear about their drinking policy- they can offer you a beer at noon and not allow you to dive any more that day (did not happen to us but to another client staying in parallel).
e) Segregation is something worth looking at. Local (Honduran?) staff will not stay in the bar/dining room, will eat outside, and so on. Foreign staff (white?) are equals. We were hinted, though obviously could not verify, that tips to local staff well… you get the point.
f) Costs- the price of the accommodation is high. At the level of a real resort. This is more at the level of a nice hotel- but what can one do? Do check for hidden costs: we were asked two times to pay for transportation we did not need, by two different employees, each asking for a different price, both asking for somewhat over normal rate. No big deal but strange. The costs of the dives are also high, but maybe this can be expected since the groups are small and everything needs to be shipped from the mainland.
g) Feedback- the owner is not into accepting or correcting after feedbacks. His policy seems to be – tough, If you don’t like something- just go away (and pay … see refund policy)
So, my bottom line recommendation is- go visit and dive in Cayos Cochinos. If you can, go with another venue or dive trip. If you cannot, bite the bullet, pay the price, do not expect or ask for much and you will enjoy.response / report this review -

Paradise! Pristine island and surrounding reef, awesome diving. Absolutely loving it, great staff & awesome food!

Stopped in for a drink and a bite while sailing by. Friendly staff, beautiful resort, saw a turtle while rowing to shore (living up to it's name of "Turtle Bay") Can't wait to return for some diving.
