Great but was missing some stuff. We need more love to our culture and history, we need more people who are willing to appreciate all we have and are as Hondurans!

This is the only museum we have in town. It does not have enough historic explanations of our community. They had the best intentions when they built it but it needs more attention

ubicado en la ciudad de San Pedro SulaEl museo fue inaugurado el 20 de enero de 1994 y abrió sus puertas al público el 25 de abril del mismo año, en la ciudad de San Pedro Sula, en el departamento de Cortés.1​ El museo regional, privado y activo que intenta dar una idea del desarrollo cultural logrado por los diferentes grupos que han vivido en el Valle de sula a través del tiempo. El museo consta de veintiséis salas temáticas, entre las que sobresale la de agricultura, animales en riesgo de extinción y una plataforma submarina y la sala precolombina. El museo fue concebido por el Centro de Estudios Precolombinos e Históricos de Honduras, sociedad civil sin fines de lucro, que con la ayuda de numerosas personas, instituciones y empresas logró organizarlo y darle vida. El Museo de AntropologÃa e Historia está asociado a la red nacional de museos de Honduras.

Worth a visit. This unassuming museum had a small, but well curated collection of pre-columbian and colonial artifacts. For those seeking to understand more Honduras and the region's rich past, this is a good place to get a good introduction. I particularly liked the designs of some of the grinding stones and a couple of large sculptures in the collection. There are also several interesting displays about mass production of pottery and other Mayan artifacts in the region. The colonial period collection even has a small display with old soda pop bottles and many interesting period photographs.

Fantastic experience. Friendly honest staff. If you go here, know that you are not allowed to take your bag/purse with you to see the amazing historic pieces that Honduras has to offer.
