Location in mall is not ideal, not one window If you want something Western that is decent but a bit overpriced, this is your spot! Full disclosure Lived in Chicago for 8 years And when I get home sick, I visit here.
Nice restaurant for American comfort food. Prices are reasonable and the food was pretty good.
RECOMMENDED.
My first visit was more than ten years ago. This was my favourite American restaurant but the quality is going down! Too bad!
We asked the waiter three times for a cup of warm water for my parent to take medicines, but they ignored us every single time. Poor service, would not recommend.
Food is not bad, but the value for money is not great. My Philly cheesesteak was quite cold in the middle and the consistency of the cheese was bad. The bartender was very nice (would go back just for him), but service was quite slow. Would not recommend.
- A disappointed customer
Have a good atmosphere. Foot is scrumptious but the waiter have bad attitude. Oninion soup is a must-eat.
For food, the potato skin was pretty good but that's about it. Notably the rib eye was rather chewy and tasted quite bland (unless you take into account the burnt bitterness), which is unacceptable for a grill/ steak house.
Whereas for service, they unfortunately decided to serve the main before any appetizers, and seemed to be in a rush to get rid of us when the restaurant was half empty and not even close to closing.
I'm vegan, so I asked for the dairy and oil to be removed from their Super Greens salad. They ended up removing the avocado and blueberry dressing as well there was way too much pine nuts in the salad, and the quinoa tasted unappetising (as if it wasn't fresh.)
The rocket leaves in the salad were limp and crushed.
Their cucumber and lemon water tasted like tap water with tap residue. It didn't taste very fresh.
I will not go back. In fact the roasted squash salad in 'Pacific coffee' right beside Dan Ryan's is way better for less than half price.
My sister spit out most of her steak. It was medium rare and still pink inside but too lean and hard to chew.

Very bad services. Order takes more than an hour to prepare. Lousy food The signature dishes such as potato skin, back ribs were nothing like before anymore. We used to be a patron of Dan Ryan but after the recent experience, decided not to visit this restaurant again. This is the Dan Ryan we frequented before 👎👎👎
Uncomfortable seating, steak house prices, combined with services not much better than Hong Kong style cafe.
Food's good, though.
Ordered the brunch carbonara and the "wild" mushroom omlette to share with my friend. The carbonara was quite good. Though it has very very small even for Hong Kong portion size, definitely not Chicago size. I'd say it was maybe 3/4 cup? Kinda creative that it was served topped with two poach eggs ( Minus the whites), I liked it.
The wild mushroom omlette was normal proton. While it was most definitely market-, rather than wild-, mushrooms, those were tasty. The egg part is a little overcooked. The cream sauce was the best part--though why is my omlette served with sauce?? Lol
Good food, but too pricey, better to come here for lunch instead of dinner
Ordered food here today, finally arrived after a wait of 40 min. Food was cold and not as described on menu. Waiter unapologetic, sent food back, when it returned after a further 20 min the eggs were not cooked (raw). Left without paying.
Grumpy slow staff, chicken that tastes like it was microwaved. Unapologeric when forgetting orders. Oh, and potentially lethal, google dan ryan food poisoning.
Good American Grill, but heard few people got food poisoning and died so they don't do medium rare, but only medium well. better go well done on the meat.
Decent happy hour. BBQ chicken on the lunch menu is good value. #protein
Friendly staff and managers and the food is great! They have new items every week now, keeps you coming back!
