Real local food. Crowded every night. Waiters are not speaking good English. Worth to try.

Having dinner around 7PM? then you must use your eagle eye to see which table is ending soon and stand behind to book the table :)

The meals over there mostly delicious :) overall we spent HKD400 for 4 persons and we are full :) this is an authentic old fashion hawker. Don't worry, all the shop u see overthere are all linked and udner Chan Kun Kee. Just order to the person who nearest to you.

    Enjoyed :)

Extremely popular dining place, yet completely overrated.
Been here twice. The first time was 9 month ago. I had some crappy shrimp covered in masses of near raw garlic. That was the worst so I remember it most vividly. Other dishes were not as bad but nowhere close to tasty food that you may expect from a renowned restaurant.
Anyway I gave it a second shot couple days ago.
This time I had to share table with a small family of three and a group of five. We ordered at about the sametime yet I had nothing served to me while the other two parties had a couple. The staff gave rude response when we reported this issue. The quality of the food were still much below expectation. I would even say it was below average since all the dishes are too salty.

Local HongKong style, fading such restaurant in hk.
Fusion of different taste & dishes in a hot & excellent atmosphere!
    Better go while not raining!

Long waiting times, and you also have to find your own table, so be prepared to scramble around trying to get a seat! The wait for the food is also quite long. However, there is free parking (2 hours). The food is decent, but overall, the food is not worth the wait.

It is a bit of a walk to this place from the nearest MTR station (Fo Tan Station). I had a bit of trouble finding it. Even when I arrived, I was not sure if I was in the right place because it was just a large outdoor area with a bunch of tables set up. Besides the food, the atmosphere is the most intriguing aspect of this place. Even on a Monday night, it was busy with crowds of locals having a good time together sharing beers and delicious food. I had the popular wasabi chicken with jellyfish and fried tofu skin rolls and both were delicious. I also ordered some chives with salty pork belly for the sake of vegetables. From the dessert counter, make sure to get the fried mango, and fresh coconut juice to wash it all down!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Daipaidong experience. Great atmosphere matched by the tastiest authentic local cuisine washed down with a couple of Tsingtao beers.

Came here for dinner and ordered 10 dishes. I had the mantis shrimp, salt and pepper dog fish, beef noodle, fish tofu, marinated beef flank/tofu/squid, herbal chicken feet, oyster omelette, roasted goose, wasabi shredded chicken, and steamed garlic shrimp. All the food tasted great. Only the dogfish and oyster omelette could have been better. Roasted goose had crispy skin and tender meat, it was fantastic. The herbal chicken feet looked like it would be bland, but it was so full of flavour. I would recommend coming here. The place gets packed around 7-730pm.

Good local 'tai pai dong', always busy and understaffed so it's hard to find someone to take your order. If you don't know Chinese I suggest bringing a friend with you that does to read the menu and order.

    Good local restaurant.

Don't expect a decent or fine dinning, it's not but an good experience for old Hong Kong style food.

BTW, no booking and always full!

typical Tai Pai Dong in Hong Kong serving typical Chinese and some unique dishes such as hand slicef Wasabi chicken which tasted so great and unforgettable, hard to find elsewhere. the other dishes are also great! Went there with a bunch of friends or colleagues and order a full table of food wont cause you a fortune but will give you the perfect and satisfying night!

If you go here, please note you have to write your orders on the paper (in Chinese) before requesting staff to proceed.
Other than this strange move, the food here is great, they even have a dessert shop next to the counter.
