Great place. Bought several books here when I was traveling.
Cozy. Most of the books are in Chinese. The store has put a lot of effort to build up its Chinese calligraph section.
Local book store that also supplies local school books. Good selection of Chinese language books, DVDs, Chinese calligraphy supplies and ornaments. Small supply of English language books. Also good selection of stationery.
There are stocks of ancient classics of Chinese and LPs records. It is worth to visit if you love those. The shop is very small and it was not much space for you to move around during peak hours such as on Saturday afternoon.
Books store is a rare commodities, due to internet age, you will find a lot of chinese books of different interested title
Very big book shop with lots of things to see. Do keep in mind that most of their stuff is in Chinese though
same old
Experience with buying school text books were a nightmare. Not only I need to take 4 trips to almost complete the purchase of text books, I have to keep calling for status of the backorder books.
Of the three Chinese financed bookstores in Hong Kong, Chung Hwa is the smallest: in size of its branches as well as the number of branches. Yet, being the smallest, it.stands out the most. Knowing that it cannot be all-encompassing, it contains books focused on literature, history and art. In Chinese. Skip the ground floor, skip the first floor as well, go straight to the second. Half way up the stairs, as you are greeted by the smell of books old or new, you will know that you are headed to the right place.
This is one of the few book stores that welcomes, perhaps unofficially, people clinging to books without buying. There are sofas, platform steps which are carpetted. As long as you are not blocking the passages, the staff are very tolerant. I have yet to see people invited to go back on their feet while poring over the shop's books for hours on end, sitting on the bookstore floor.
Located 5min walk from Yau Ma Tei MTR station.
Not bad.
Standing here for many years and still a great place to get some books.
If in Hong Kong you cannot afford to miss Nathan Road. On the main street full of shopping, restaurants and bars. Turn inside the streets for large markets for electronics, fashion and much more.
The selection of books is only satisfactory. Not many English books could be found there. Also the staff is not experienced enough to assist customers to perform certain task like finding a book from a famous author. That said, the store is spacious and the atmosphere is very relaxing
One of the largest bookstores in Kowloon. You can buy school textbooks here in summer.
