A brain child of Mr. Yesu Persaud in his late 60's Demerara Bank Limited, was incorporated in January of 1992. Highly linked to Demerara Distillers Limited and even known as DDL's bank - it has become quite a household name over the years.

On 12th November of 1994, Demerara Bank Limited was declared open by His Excellency, Dr. Cheddi B. Jagan, the then President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.

The bank is still thriving and doing well today!
