Some of the staff really need to fix their attitudes. If you don’t like interacting with people, get another job or just stay home. If you’re gonna catch an attitude with someone if they’re asking you a question. I honestly love arrivals staff but the departure staff omg the worst set of people you can deal with. I get upset just thinking about them. A guy had overweight and didn’t fill out the tags. ( he didn’t know how to read and write I guess ? He was an older man.) two of the staff decided it was a good idea to make fun of him as he was walking away. I felt so bad for him I decided to walk out of the line and help him to fill out his tags. He then turned to me and thanked me and said he heard them too. I just told him that it’s okay don’t pay mind to these ignorant people that work there. Also their making over the airport it’s looking even more beautiful than before. Totally in love with it.

Travelling through Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri since the early 80's observed improvement through the years, needs upgrade especially the washrooms that is always obnoxious. Check In at times can be chaotic, immigration has improved and appears OK considering the limitations, however there need to be massive changes, better training or complete replacement of departure security officers with customs officers. At this airport it appears as though there's a hidden policy to consider everyone a security threat or drug mule.

It's an ok airport. You kinda get a bit worried coming into land, as it's all trees then suddenly it just appears.

The airport is the main airport in Guyana to accommodate large international flights. The facilities needs to be modernized and more services needs to be offered for passengers checked in. There is only one small food kiosk and a bar.

Currently under construction, so you will have to be patient. The staff are usually nice! There is a need to have some improvements in the departure lounge like having your family come in with you. Will update this post later!

(UPDATE 10/)08/2017/ CURRENTLY UNDER RENOVATION) Its nice but its a little old fashion some of the workers at check in act like they don't know what there doing. This really question me does these workers have proper training. They made my sibling bought another ticket for no reason at all. They are creating fake rules and I'm not just fake rules because I'm angry, i did my homework okay, i research their so call rules and its false. Everything else is OK other than check in. When coming off the plane you have to use stairs but they provide raincoats if rain is falling. Its clean sometimes at arrival. Their washrooms are sometimes clean.They give you a great view when waiting on arrivals they are no duty free when coming off the plane. This is a airport that hurts your head I've been traveling from since child and this is the only airport that gives me a difficult time. I would recommend the government doing something about the employees at check in they are rude and impolite, well some of them. The airport decoration is very unique.

Immigration was nice, the building is quaint and very neat. There are phone services there so you can immediately change your sim card to be able to get service from Digicel.

Its nice but its a little old fashion some of the workers at check in act like they don't know what there doing. This really question me does these workers have proper training. They made my sibling bought another ticket for no reason at all. Everything else is OK other than check in. When coming off the plane you have to use stairs but they provide raincoats if rain is falling. Its clean sometimes at arrival. Their washrooms are clean most of the times. They give you a great view when waiting on arrivals they are no duty free when coming off the plane. Nice little airport. Antiquated processes but nice, clean, friendly. Lacking in amenities but surprised to find free Wifi, a barista and movies playing on flat panels.
The airfield entry is pretty with flowers planted. Hope it maintains its charm.response / report this review
