Lemai Cafe & Restaurant was named for the grove of breadfruit trees that sits beside it. The grove continues to bear fruit after decades of typhoons and dry seasons. The menu focuses on Chamorro homestyle meals and traditional treats such as buñelos lemmai* made from fresh-picked breadfruit. Popularity for the buñelos grew, and today Lemai offers seasonal flavors including yam (dågu), banana (aga'), mango, papaya and more.

Customers can dine al fresco or in a comfortably air-conditioned quonset hut. The restaurant is also available for private parties in the evenings and on Sundays.

*Buñelos: Chamorro-style doughnuts similar to Portuguese malasadas, Italian zeppoles, and Homer Simpson's personal favorite, the American doughnut. Lemmai: the Chamorro word for breadfruit, a species of flowering tree in the mulberry family that is native to Southeast Asia and most Pacific Ocean islands.
