  Temple 216 at Yaxha has the best viewshed from a temple top in Guatemala. Yes, IMHO a nicer view than the ones at Tikal. Part of the reason is that Yaxha’s Temple 216 is positioned on a high acropolis on a ridge above a huge lake. At the summit the front of the temple steps face toward the west. To the south you see Laguna Yaxha with cleared pastures and jungle in the distance. You can see the island containing the Topoxte site. To the west and north are the unbroken jungle vistas of the Yaxha Nakum Naranjo National Park. The top of another Yaxha site temple on the north acropolis is visible to the northwest. On the top of Temple 216 you can walk around the back of the temple where the national park vista continues. To the southeast there is another lake called Laguna Sacnab.

  Probably the best place of the Archeological sites of Guatemala to see a sunset!!! Just amazing!!!
