I believe every woman should attend a women’s circle at least once in their life. I have done a lot of inner work lately but this writing circle was one of the most direct and effective approaches I’ve experienced. Aimee provided a safe space for open and honest communication; anything was ok no matter how small, big, or silly it seemed. For me it provided me with the space to 1) get to know myself better, to understand recurring behaviours and emotions and also to move forward on my path with more clarity 2) communicate better with myself and with others 3) realise that I’m not alone in my thoughts and battles. Go for it, you’ll thank yourself later!

I had the remarkable fortune to have stumbled upon Storyteller within while searching for a place to heal my deeply wounded heart after losing my beautiful son. While I was nervous about traveling to an unfamiliar place, in both the geographical sense and in the sense of traveling into my own heart, Guatemala & Aimee assuaged any fear by spreading wide, welcoming arms that wrapped around me and didn't let go once. And, in fact, the love & compassion, empathy & sympathy, encouragement & inspiration, provocation & enthusiasm that Aimee's well thought out & phenomenal retreat format was more healing, cathartic, & necessary than I could have ever imagined. In Aimee, and in all the women of our retreat, I have made loving & supportive friendships that will undoubtedly last a lifetime and continue to fuel the creative fire within my soul. Five stars is the highest rating possible, but a more accurate rating of The Storyteller Within would include an entire Milky Way of stars!

There are some people who, within minutes of meeting them, you know that you will never forget. Aimee Hansen is this person. Her unique and uncanny ability to lead a retreat that shakes, breaks, and ultimately empowers women is some of the most beautiful talent I've ever been lucky enough to witness. She thinks of every detail, hangs on to every word, and makes every single woman feel seen. Over the course of one week, I filled an entire notebook with words, thoughts, emotions, trying to adequately capture the magic that occurred. I've never been so happy to say: I completely failed. Because this retreat isn't something that can ever be regurgitated or described in a way that will do it justice. You will just have to take the leap & go.

A retreat hosted by Aimee is not just any reatreat, that's for sure (just how quickly she responds to any email questions says a lot) 👏👏 And she sees the needs of every person but she also sees the magic within them ✨✨ You will have a time full of laughter, glitter and practice of "heart writing" instead of the usual "brain writing" :) And before you know it you might also have a whole bunch of new amazing women in your life. They're waiting for you! ❤

"Once in a blue moon" proved to be just that for me in many forms as an engaged member of the Storyteller Within Sacred Expression Women's Writing retreat during Jan-Feb. 2018 along Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. We were fortunate to celebrate nature's real Blue Moon and experience pure joy, peace, passion, dancing, love, humor, caring and purposed guidance by our fabulous facilitator Aimee. In addition to our circle times, morning aerobics and self-work, I gained life advancing insight from the Mayan birth chart reading, "inside and outside" massage, external excursion to the women's knitting cooperative and more. I am forever grateful for the rich learning and doing. I have an earned road map for the fulfillment of my exciting journey. Thank you Aimee and my new sisters, especially my Mayan birth twin. Authentic and Real. That is Aimee. But it gets even better, because during retreat Aimee creates a safe, sacred, soulful space where I was able to dive deep and be Authentic and Real, too. Unapologetically me. Without judgment, without restraint, but with total respect and importance placed on how I felt. From the minute I first read about the Storyteller Within retreat online, it beckoned to me. I knew that it was everything that I needed but that I didn't even know how to articulate until then. My experience of this retreat was nothing short of magical. I shed toxic stories that held me captive for far too long. I rediscovered parts of myself that were buried somewhere within for indeterminate amounts of time, and even discovered aspects of myself that I never knew existed. I spoke truths that I previously never dared. I danced, stomped, howled at the moon, cried, felt alive in ways I didn't know were possible, profoundly connected to myself and other beautiful women, and emerged with a light inside of myself that continues to shine brightly even a month after returning to "real" life. Aimee's own courage, passion, and unwavering honesty made the Storyteller Within journey possible for me. Aimee created a space that invited each individual woman to find her voice and let it echo loudly and proudly for all to hear, while also helping to weave a connection between the women in the group that made the experience truly meaningful. I am steeped in gratitude to her, and cannot recommend this retreat highly enough.

Although it's been over a year since I attended the Storyteller Within retreat, rarely a week goes by that I don't think of, draw on, and smile about my experience on the side of a volcano, in a group of strangers, and the self-discovery that happened there. There is something beautiful and powerful about coming together as women, allowing ourselves to be vulnerable with each other, and prioritizing ourselves for even a week. It has made all the difference to me. I will admit, before attending this retreat I was a little terrified of such things. I'm glad I took the plunge to go, and I think you will be too.

My week in Guatemala awakened the spiritual lioness that had been dormant inside me for YEARS. Amy is not only a facilitator of self-explorative writing - she is a muse. Half of my journal is filled with her words and I find myself often referring to them for inspiration in my current writing projects. I cannot recommend this retreat enough. It should be mandatory. Also, I'm now hooked on cacao.

The Storyteller Within Retreat was a truly incredible experience. I returned from the retreat in January and I feel that the lessons learned there were seeds planted that are just now beginning to bloom. Aimee creates a sweet, sacred space for women to meet and share with each other. She guided us through deep exploration of ourselves, with writing as the medium for our expression. I recommend this retreat to anyone who is looking to connect with themselves and with other women. You will not regret it!

What an amazing, beautiful experience this was for me! Aimee was so gracious, patient, and kind even before I got to the retreat, and she remained a wise guide throughout. The location was STUNNING, the other women kindred spirits, the food delicious, and the retreat cats simply adorable. :) Most important, the retreat offered the space and tools to allow me to pan out and view my life with a wider lens, and I am still reaping the benefits today. I highly recommend this retreat.

This retreat changed my life in beautiful, natural way. Aimee led us to reclaim our inner voice by challenging the narratives we have been telling, and by encouraging us to question our limiting beliefs. We learned the power of a women's circle, and with Aimee's guidance and inspiration, we became a family who felt comfortable sharing and releasing in a safe environment. Aimee is a profound speaker, writer and leader who has been put on this planet to stir lives and guide souls towards their true path. What an amazing experience. It was more than yoga. It was more than writing. It was more than meeting people. I was able to share such special moments with women who after only one week have become lifelong friends. Aimee guides one through such a journey that helps to understand yourself better, acknowledge your past and focus on a positive future. Figuring out who you are is not an easy task and this journey helps to guide you a little closer with the help of so many powerful women.
