  I had an excellent experience learning at San Pedro Spanish School for five weeks. The place was beautiful, the teachers were very well-qualified, and the administration very easy and flexible to deal with. It is the most beautiful place I have ever studied anything in. We are talking tropical gardens filled with hummingbirds the sanding to a lake with three volcanos around it!

  Excellent and very well managed school. The teachers were energetic, patient and extremely helpful. The classroom setting was gorgeous and relaxing. Not only was the school great but the host family's and the town in general. I highly recommend San Pedro spanish school.

  Fabulous! Easy planning before arrival, seamless airport pickup, very accommodating with school schedule, and teacher was wonderful. Only wish I could have stayed longer! Another aspect I loved is you can continue with Skype classes once you leave. Highly recommend staying with a host family through the school. Incredible experience and allowed me to continue practicing my Spanish after school hours.

  Brilliant. Intended to stay there for 1 week, but stayed for 7 weeks. They have a conversation club which is an opportunity to use your Spanish and also get to know fellow students, which is a massive help to your spanish and to forming a community of students. The teachers are great, laid back, understanding and will motivate you also. I can't recommend this school enough.

  What a amazing experience we had in San Pedro Spanish School! The teachers at the school are really amazing and very professional. Ramon, the director, is always ready to answers questions. We came with our kids and the teaching methods were just perfect for them too. We warmly recommend the San Pedro Spanish School. You will learn quickly, with joy! Ingrid, Rosita, Ramon and all the others, thank you and don't give up the good job!

  I have studied at schools all over Central and South America and this is my favorite. The school itself is well run with very competent and professional teachers. The instruction is taught one on one. There are school sponsored activities each day. But the location is what really sets this school apart. The school itself is on the shore of the lake. The beauty of the lake, the surrounding volcanoes, and the outdoor activities available makes this a fantastic place to enjoy when not in class. I highly recommend the home stays as well.

  It was far more than learning Spanish! I could not give enough stars for this school. The teachers are amazing and truly care about your every need, the setting is out of this world beautiful and the town of San Pedro is filled with beauty and kindness that you could only dream of! You will leave San Pedro Spanish School with life long friendships and of course speaking all the Spanish!

  I decided to come to San Pedro to study Spanish because I am a wedding officiant and have many requests for wedding ceremonies in Spanish which I have been unable to do. I have spent the last two weeks at the Spanish School here in San Pedro and have had an amazing experience. Clara my teacher, helped me with my pronunciation, my vocabulary, and my musicality of the language. I am now able to read correctly and with correct pronunciation nine separate ceremonies. I also was able to learn basic greetings so that I was able to understand my host, Tula, where I stayed for the last 2 weeks. My stay with the Mendez family which was chosen for me by the school, could not have been better. I cannot say enough about the staff, their friendliness, their helpfulness and their ability to speak English which was very necessary for me at times. I would highly recommend the San Pedro Spanish School for anyone who is interested in an amazing vacation learning Spanish, in a lovely Lakeside town. Thank you Ramon, Luis, Clara and all of the staff.

  Had a wonderful two weeks here. The sitting is pristine, the homestay was perfectly organised, and the lessons were great. Made far more progress in 2 weeks than I'd thought possible.

  I cannot rate San Pedro Spanish school highly enough. Brilliant atmosphere, beautiful and tranquil learning environment and my Maestra, Ingrid, was an excellent teacher. We stayed with host family 'Familia Mendez' and they were incredibly accommodating and cooked great food, by the end of the week it felt like a second home. Thanks!

  I spent one week here last month and I really enjoyed it. Coming from a rigorous 3 weeks of Spanish courses in Xela, this school's laid back conversational emphasis was just what I needed. My maestra, Elena, was marvelous and she kept me in check. We had a lot of fun and she catered to my needs quite well. The school did not host activities like other schools but there was a "conversation club" each night mon-thurs for those who wanted extra practice. Thursday night was a salsa class which I thoroughly enjoyed. Other that those, my friends and I ventured to different towns on our own time after school. My host family was incredible, we lived quite far up several hills but it was worth it. They served incredible meals and were extremely nice.

  Great school with a beautiful lakefront location! The teachers were very professional and I learned way more than I had anticipated. The staff were very kind and helped me plan my extracurricular activities. The school and town are a great base to explore other parts of Guatemala and I really enjoyed have someplace that felt like home to come back to after my adventures. Great school and a magical place!

  Amazing experience. The school has a huge, lush garden (I can't imagine that any other schools in Guatemala have such nice facilities) with whiteboards and lots of privacy. There seems to be a lot of quality-control of the teachers - they are more professional and experienced than at other schools. My teacher, Rosita, was absolutely amazing energetic, prepared, knowledgeable, and fun. The focus on the school is definitely on teaching and learning Spanish (as it should be!), although if you want to be heavily involved in community service activities, or if you want the cheapest possible experience, you might be better off with the other schools in San Pedro. I recommend the San Pedro Spanish School, and in particular I strongly recommend studying with Rosita if possible.
