We had an awesome experience at this restaurant. The food was amazing and very affordable. The restaurant was very nicely decorated, the tables amazing and the service was quick. The toilets were clean, so well done. Totally will come back!

To all you gringos looking for a place with history; great food for the price; super clean bathrooms; and A+ service, run don't walk to the Chichoy. I used to come here in the 80s, when a group of widows ran the place. It was picturesque then, but now it's that plus a huge menu, fast service, and enough food for leftovers. The criollo soup, or whatever it's called, at $8, would cost twice as much at home. It comes with huge sides of vegetables and a half a chicken breast, perfectly char-broiled. Two flat screen t.v.s if you must; counter sweets to take away; and at least six stalls in each bathroom that are super clean make this place a must-go. Located across from Agua Escondida schoolhouse on Pan American highway, west side. Do not confuse it with the Chichoy that is further south. The latter is way more touristy.
